"Our mother/grandmother was taken to Laurels after neglect at another nursing home resulted in a stay at the hospital. She thrived while under their care. The staff were wonderful about answering our questions, taking our calls, and communicating regularly with us. They treated her really well, and were always very caring and pleasant to her, even making sure she got a special good night every night from a nurse. They made sure her last days were comfortable and filled with warmth. Upon her death several staff even sent condolences to our family."

The rehab dept was wonderful about getting her a motorized wheelchair & working with insurance for therapy. Rene worked hard to keep her mobile. The social services dept worked hard to make sure she was happy with her roommate, happy with staff &services.Thank you all for your care & compassion!"

"Have you ever had to have surgery on your wedding anniversary? I have. I started this journey at the hospital. My family got me to come to The Laurels of Defiance for therapy. And I have been so blessed. From the moment I arrived the nurses are phenomenal, so caring, kind and loving. I thought they new my pain. The therapy group I feel I needed a push or a hug. Staff was here as soon as I pushed the call light. Housekeeping was incredible and kept everything in order. Food was good. Activities was here, every day to invite me to a party. Its almost hard to say good bye to them. Saying good bye is hard since I made wonderful friends. Staff made all my needs and went beyond. If you are looking for a place for rehab and this is the place. The Laurels of Defiance is the best."
