About the Business

Children's Advantage

Children's Advantage is a health institution located on North Freedom Street in Ravenna, Ohio, United States. We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with the organization "Magic Gives Back" to raise awareness for suicide prevention, education, and outreach resources. This partnership will also help raise funds for Children's Advantage through a unique and exciting event that you won't want to miss.

Magic Gives Back, founded by the renowned magician Rick Smith Jr., has a history of raising significant funds for communities. With your support, we are anticipating this fundraiser to be one of the most successful for our organization yet. The event will take place at the Ravenna High School Auditorium on April 28th at 5 PM, featuring a grand illusion show that promises to be a memorable experience for all ages.

Tickets for Magic Gives Back are now on sale, and we encourage everyone to participate to maximize our fundraising potential. All funds raised will be donated to Children's Advantage to continue providing vital mental health services to children and families in need. Our mission is to promote the healthy development of children and families through quality behavioral, mental health, and substance use prevention and treatment services.

Join us in celebrating the life of Aaliyah, a beloved member of our community, and help us make a difference in the lives of children and families in need. Thank you for your active participation and support. We look forward to seeing you at the show and working together to create healthy minds and happy hearts.

"We have been coming to Children's Advantage since 2010 maybe 2011. I have always felt respected and heard. My son has never been told he has to be seen alone. If he wants someone in the room they can be there. Dr Winnie, our current psychiatrist, talks to both of our children sometimes because she sees the value of the whole family in the care and treatment of her patients. Rescheduling is never an issue, it might not be right away, but when your providers are as good as these providers are there is going to be a wait. Nurse Carla is the kindest, most gentle soul I have met. Even the front of the house staff have always been trauma informed and professional. I do have to say Ryan, in the doctor's office, is the greatest addition to the staff. He returns calls and makes sure messages are passed along with no issues. If I were to ever poach an employee it would be Ryan."

"LISTEN TO THE REVIEWERS! GO ELSEWHERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD(REN) This place has been going downhill for the past several years, but I finally had enough. They can't keep counselors on site and the majority of the ones they hire have no business working with children. The final straw was their newest edition, Ms. Kathy Caputo. Ms. Caputo seems to be power hungry and wanting to dictate everything from the get go. I was just made aware of their new policy which dictates that the therapist, not the patient, has control on whether or not a parent/guardian may come back with them. My child has trauma and as such has trouble trusting people. Now, I'd understand if my child asked me to step outside the room I'd gladly do so, but straight up denying patients access to their comfort person? Not happening. I at first requested to switch back to tele-health so my child could be comfortable again, but Ms. Caputo adamantly refused to do so. Telling me that she wanted to see my child one one, without me, even though my child requested me to be there. How very narcissistic of her. That was the final straw and she discharged my child. OK. Fine. I'll just go elsewhere. This place is one red flag after the next. UPDATE: I have since called three other agencies: Stepping Stones, Coleman, and Reach and asked all of them if they had similar policies. Children's Advantage is the only place with this new policy and every other agency found this concerning. When I went into Children's Advantage in order to get them to fax my child's documents over to their new therapy agency the receptionists, all of them, seemed angry and unfriendly. Perhaps they saw this review and didn't approve of it. To that I will say cope and do better."

"When my daughter's favorite counselor left this place, we were put on a long waiting list. I called in several times but was told to wait. The person who was assigned to my daughter later wasn't that helpful. So we switched too."

"This company will not respect guardian/parent wishes, they will groom your child to “need” adhd medication which is one compound difference then crystal meth.. I am having to seek legal aid after everything they have traumatized my son with, ask for a formal complaint to be written you’ll get child written essay about “mothers upset” instead of the actual severity of the situation. Garage company, Garbage employees, I would never send a child to this company. PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS TO BE SEEN ALONE WITH ANY OF THESE COUNSELORS!"
