"2/28/22. My brother is a quadriplegic (C3)and has been having repeated urinary tract infections since last August. His Urologist wants him to see Infectious Disease asap. He was a new pt and the first appt they get us in for is Feb 28. While preregistering I’m told not to arrive early. On the day of his appt we leave 20 earlier than needed since we are 55min away and I’m using GPS. The roads that we were given were very bumpy and rough. The roads wouldn’t have been an issue for normal vehicles but in his van bumps, uneven road etc throws him around even though he is strapped down. It whips his neck, throws his arms off his chair and has caused his chair to turn on causing it to raise up when at the end of his straps. My speed was unfortunately slowed considerably. We explained to the office we were close and trying hard to get there, we were told we may have to reschedule, I told her to please don’t reschedule, we were coming an hour away and unfamiliar with where we were going. 5 minutes later they call back and state the physician says we have to reschedule. I am trying to take care of him and my parents who both have lung cancer plus working part time and we were too much of an inconvenience for her. Dr Awad that’s pathetic!"
