Reviews
"Andrews Osborne Academy is a beacon of excellence in education, and we are delighted to share our review, especially for our grandson and granddaughter, who thrive within its vibrant community. This institution embodies a remarkable reflection of the world, fostering an international and diverse student body that celebrates uniqueness and cultivates a rich tapestry of perspectives. What strikes us most is the palpable sense of inclusivity that permeates through every aspect of AOA. The community not only embraces diversity in ethnicity, culture, and background but also champions a genuine diversity of thought. This environment allows our grandson and granddaughter to explore their passions while engaging with a multitude of perspectives, broadening their horizons beyond the classroom. The faculty and staff at AOA are exemplary in their commitment to nurturing not just academic growth but also personal development. The dedication they exhibit in providing a holistic education, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging open dialogue is truly commendable. Our grandson and granddaughter have thrived under this guidance, demonstrating a remarkable growth in both academic and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, the school's emphasis on global citizenship is unparalleled. Through various programs, exchanges, and initiatives, AOA instills in its students a deep appreciation for different cultures and a sense of responsibility towards the world at large. Our grandson and granddaughter have embraced this global perspective, becoming more empathetic and culturally aware individuals. The vibrant tapestry of extracurricular activities, from arts to athletics, ensures that our grandson and granddaughter have avenues to explore their interests and talents beyond academics. The supportive and nurturing environment encourages them to excel not just academically but in areas that speak to their individual passions. Overall, Andrews Osborne Academy stands as an exemplary institution that not only educates but also inspires and empowers its students. Our grandson and granddaughter have found a second home here, a place that not only challenges their intellect but also nurtures their spirits. It’s a school that embodies the beauty of diversity and fosters a sense of belonging and understanding—a true gem in the realm of education."
"I went to this school as part of the ISA Prep basketball program. With ISA officially leaving aoa I decided to come fourth and state my opinion on this school. To start off all I can say is do not send your children here. I was living in the St. John dorm and one the house parents named Zach actually made me feel so uncomfortable during my duration at the school. He would always try and engage in weird conversation with me and would always be on the students floor walking around and peeking his head in peoples rooms when they are not there. I actually have seen him walking out of peoples rooms when I know for a fact that person wasn’t in the house. This actually infuriated me that my privacy was being invaded by a creepy Middle Aged guy that I don’t know. I had asked to move and the Housing director never made an effort. There’s also been an act that happened this year with a teacher and younger students and it’s quite disturbing and from my knowledge the school did nothing but release that teacher. This school cares about nothing but money. Another thing is with the teachers. From my experience Tracy Stefnov was the laziest teacher I’ve ever been around. I would email her multiple times a week to update my grade to get me off the study hall list and she would refuse to respond. Your grade would go from 100% to an 60% right before the semester would be over because she would do no progress reports and wouldn’t update the grade book till the final week before semester was over. Another thing with this school is the food budget. The lunch ladies are all wonderful souls and I have nothing but respect for them but aoa refuses to give them a better food budget. There is actually an instagram page made to make fun of the schools food therefore some meals weren’t even eatable it was truly disgusting how this school treats there students. If it wasn’t for the ISA program I would’ve left this school within the first week. Don’t give this school a dime of your money!"
"We've been at the school now for almost six years and we have two kids in Lower School. This is a fantastic independent school with international boarders. Exposing our kids to other cultures is important to us as parents and they do a great job interacting with students living in the dorms through their dorm buddies program. The curriculum is wonderful with creative arts embedded deeply into Lower, Middle, and Upper schools. I love all the little free programming opportunities after school for the Lower school kids, like soccer, basketball, baseball, and dance. So the kids can try different activities and sports with little pressure. I also love that lunch is covered as part of the tuition and there are some great options to choose from. The school managed COVID19 with professionalism and safety being top priority. There is a great community feel at the school among families. It's great being able to volunteer with class events and programming for the littles. My kids feel safe there and there is an emphasis on appropriate social behavior and kindness at all ages."
"Do not recommend. We have been in this school a few years now and it’s been a huge disappointment! I highly recommend you do your research on the staff and programs. There are also many the legal cases against this board and school. Very interesting. Back in the day when my niece went there it was so good and now it’s just not good."
"Generally the school is pretty good, but recently Dr.Goodman did the most disgusting display during a meeting with many younger students and other teachers. He cussed out one of the best teachers and a senior, and in a meeting intended to shed light on a recent mistake of his. In his efforts he ended up making many students lose entire respect for him. He has single-handedly ruined a lot of aspects of the school."
