"Almost no rooms in emergency room have to wait 5 hours in lobby, never gave any pain medication, if you want good service just stay home or go anywhere else, and they still transferred me to a different hospital cause they couldn’t handle it"

"From the ER staff to the Dr... horrible experience. I won't even go into detail but we were told to just be happy they didn't find anything "life threatening" and to take motrin for pain. My 19 year old daughter left there with no answers and felt defeated. We have since called our Dr to get a followup with him and to have him explain tests results that were NEVER explained to us there. 6 hours in ER to have nothing except an ER nurse not glove up to place an IV and a Dr to POP HER HEAD AROUND THE CURTAIN to say she saw nothing life threatening. It was a waste of an entire day. I will never go back."

"My mom is currently in critical condition in the Barberton ICU. The daytime nurses and doctors are gentle and personable. Honest but gentle. Five stars for the daytime staff. The nighttime staff is the complete opposite: rude, blunt, try to play God, and every night my family and I leave terrified and scared out of our minds. We even find it difficult to go to sleep at night because of how the nighttime staff has made us so scared. We dread when the 3rd shift staff comes on because we know we will leave terrified of my mom’s health."

"Healthcare is a difficult system to navigate as a patient and as a healthcare provider. I am both. I presented at this ER two nights ago with a fever of 101.6 and 8/10 back pain. I had a kidney stone nearly 1.5 years ago and really believed my symptoms were a direct result. I know that wait times are not optimal anywhere, and beds in ERs are scarce. My provider, was a sweet young man. The nurses were competent. But, I felt dismissed from the onset. I asked if we could please just do the Ct scan. I’m pretty sure I was in tears. I was told that my urine was ok so he was going to wait to order imaging until my labs came back. I’m glad to know I was not drunk. Why they checked my blood alcohol level, I am not sure. Also my white blood cells were 21.4 which is indicative of bacterial infection. So, a ct was ordered. The examination consisted of listening to heart and lungs and a slight smack on the back (checking for kidney inflammation). 5 hours and $150 later — I returned home with a fever of 101.2, no answers and 9 bruises from iv and blood draw attempts. I ended up leaving feeling like a drug seeking baby who should have just stayed home. Instead of an intelligent human who is in tune with their body and treated with respect, I felt like an inconvenience. I made the decision to seek care elsewhere yesterday and had amazing care provided my a nurse practitioner and less than 24 hours later my pain level is much improved and my fever is now considered low grade."

"My Girlfriends Father was recently in the Barberton Hospital for some pretty serious health problems. I was impressed with the hospital in a variety of ways, unfortunately these health problems have been the frequent cause of his having to be admitted, normally into another local hospital, who weren’t terrible but Barberton made us feel like he was in much hands, their very professional and will actually treat you as an equal to them opposed to being a condescending presence like some other hospitals do. The proactive roll the entire hospital health care team assigned to him had was highly impressive to say the least. The nurses on his unit were all amazing and treated him with dignity, professionalism and respect, they were all polite and courteous, they all made us feel like he was in great hands and he was. Thank you Suma, Barberton Hospital for helping my girlfriends Father in so many ways, you were amazing."
