"The stay at Advanced Specialty Hospital in Toledo was a good experience. Wound care was awesome!! Kudos to Kelsey for getting me through the three weeks I was there. I had VERY compassionate nurses and aides that became more like family. The only thing I would like to change is food. Many times the food way cold and sometimes the protein was unidentifiable. Thanks to Gary for being a caring CEO!!"

"First things first! I want to make sure that when anybody's reading the reviews for Advanced Specialty Hospital that they make sure they are reading ones that are for them and not for the nursing home next door which is separate from them. The nursing home is not rated well while Advanced Specialty Hospital is. I cannot give Advanced Specialty Hospital enough praise. My dad has been in and out of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities the past 4 months and our time that we have had at Advanced has been nothing but great. My dad has been in Advanced twice. His first time was after being in the ICU and intubated. This is a great place to come after the ICU to get attentive care still while working on pulmonary issues. After we left advanced we moved on to a skilled nursing facility for rehab and my dad actually ended up getting sepsis there from a cut and reintubated at another hospital because of the severity issues going on. After this visit in the hospital's ICU we went back to Advanced. They were even better than they were to begin with, if that's even possible since they were amazing he first time around. All the staff there is great and they treat you with the utmost respect. The Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapists are all great and work to help your family member get to the next step in their recovery. The Respiratory Therapists that are there are also amazing and work 24/7 and really care about the patients and enjoy what they do. The Nursing staff and Certified Nurse's Assistants are also top notch. I would not hesitate to send my dad back to Advanced if he had to go again. Hopefully, he never has to and is now in inpatient rehab. It was hard saying goodbye to them because they feel like they've become family. As I said everyone there is great. The front door staff always asks if they can get me anything and is wonderful to talk to along with all of the administration. If you have any concerns about your family member while you're at Advanced talk to the ambassador that is assigned to your room and they will quickly find a solution or discuss it with the staff. You also have the option to do a family meeting from time to time and definitely do that. They definitely want to see their patients move on to the next step and this is a great place to start. "I went to Advanced specialty for more care and rehab. This is the best place to be. The CEO actually works on the floor and is happy to help both the nurses and aids. All the nurses, aids, respiratory, PT, OT, Speech therapy and housekeeper are all top notch! You couldn't ask for a group of people that work hand in hand to put the patients first with the best care."

"For most part an exceptional facility. Sadly a few bad apples but CEO handled it. My patient ambassador Val also took notes. Then the food came from nursing home kitchen next door. Thankfully I could have my family bring in food. Rest of staff awesome were very accomodating. They also made allowance of what aides or nurses I wanted to work with. I had medical issues most were very patient with. They were always asking for feed back on how things were for me. Always ask questions and be your own advocate."

"My mother was a patient at Advanced Special Hospital of Toledo, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by the care and attention given to the her and our family. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the CEO, Gary, was truly invested in the well-being of the patients and his staff. The nurses, STNA, respiratory therapist, cleaning staff, physical, occupational, and speech therapist all worked together like a well oiled machine. It was especially heartwarming to see Gary go above and beyond his duties as CEO and help his nurses change my mother’s bedding when she was having a tough day. This really speaks to the kind of compassionate and caring environment that Advanced Special Hospital of Toledo fosters. The only thing I would suggest is that they could use more staff on weekends, as the workload can be quite heavy. However, this is a minor issue in comparison to the phenomenal care provided to both our mother and our family. Overall, I highly recommend Advanced Special Hospital of Toledo to anyone in need of exceptional care."
