"Earlier this summer I was encouraged to locate a mental health facility as an attempt to address several cognitive matters, for which, at that point, weekly therapy was proving to be ineffective. Exhausted by the years of struggle, I agreed to the idea, but with great reservation. I approached the concept of staying at a residential unit with cynicism and apprehension; I was convinced this prediction would surely be fulfilled. Within 24 hours of my arrival at Sibcy House, the name of the unit within the Lindner Center, which would be my home for the next few weeks, I found myself acclimating to the environment and protocols, and comfortably so. Quickly, I came to realize that my perception of residential mental health facilities was wildly inaccurate. Furthermore, it ought to be mentioned that finding ease and routine in any environment, for me, is no small task. Both the collective and singular therapy sessions were managed by a group of mental health professionals that are among the best I have ever encountered. These individuals were careful to develop a curriculum characterized by a diverse array of appropriate courses, not limited to cognitive therapies, but included art, music, physical activity, meditation, and animal interaction. The campus itself, with particular focus on the Sibcy unit, is clean, spacious, organized, and well designed; it is evident that specific concentration was given to detailing a convenient and pleasant atmosphere. In spite of the comfort provided by Sibcy, myself and fellow clients were presented with many internal challenges; this, after all, is why any of us were even at Sibcy House. While each of the residents were encouraged to explore our challenges, this process was not a journey that any of us embarked upon alone, for the staff were as much teammates to each of us as they were coaches, metaphorically speaking. All of this leads me to what I maintain was the most impactful element of the entire experience: the Sibcy House team. Each member makes themselves available for any need- they're respectful, mindful, and aware of what is happening around them. They're kind, calming, approachable and above all, express a level of empathy that is unmatched. The grasp of the human condition carried by each member of the Sibcy staff is a knowledge which cannot be simply taught, it comes naturally to them; it is who they are. The care I was provided by these individuals saw that my therapeutic process would continue and be generalized to my life beyond the walls of Sibcy. This new outlook includes a level of confidence and self-worth that I never would have imagined prior to my stay. I had absolute trust in the relationships I developed with each staff member, and although I know they would never ask it of me, my gratitude for their work cannot be quantified. Without hesitation, I would recommend Sibcy House to anyone in need of a comprehensive change regarding their mental health. I make this statement in earnest not only because the therapy was effective and thorough, but more-so, the quality and dedication of the staff, for me, are the very embodiment of ethics and character. I will forever remember my time at Sibcy with great fondness and hold it up as the most profound experience of my life."

"Lindner center is the only place that has ever really made a lasting change in my life. I am currently in Sibcy house, and it’s been a great experience. The staff here are wonderful and caring, and the groups are very helpful. The environment is nice too, and the rooms feel like hotel rooms, rather than hospital rooms. There’s a huge outdoor space that you’re able to access almost any time you’d like to, as well as a gym which there are scheduled times for. The food is also great, with a buffet on Tuesday with things like steak, seafood and assorted desserts. For a residential program, I feel like there is a good amount of freedom for patients and people who stay longer than 10 days can go on outings as well. I look forward to making more progress here, and I’m grateful for the wonderful staff as well as the other people here. This is a great place to transform yourself if you are open and willing to change. I will update my review at the end of my stay."
