DAILY GRILL INDIAN RESTAURANT

"After 30 years as a foodie, ferreting out the elusive "hidden gem". Enter this nondescript eatery located inside of an old truckstop. Let me premise by saying, my being here was not a result of countless hours of research. But rather due to a mechanical failure that I addressed and merely wanted to wash up. When I entered i noticed a faint hint of, Moroccan? Or possibly Indian? . So subtle I could scarcely make it out. Unlike the hundreds of so called Indian restaurants that think heavyhandedness with spices defines it as Indian. I glanced into the almost empty restaurant, see no one in attendance. A fellow (later I discovered is the chef) poked his head from the kitchen and said something that sounded like menu, and gestured. Well, if you insist I thought. Glancing thru it I saw one of my favorites Tandoori Chicken. So i got his attention and ordered that along with some garlic naan and rice.. After some 30 minutes I began smelling increasingly pleasant aromas wafting from the kitchen. And at about the 50 min mark, an older grandpa type hustled out to my table and presented me with 2 Styrofoam containers. I looked skeptically at them , but the aromas demanded a closer look. The visual inside was unexpected and beautiful. One bite and I knew I was in the presence of a master chef! The most skillfully balanced flavors and textures, playing a glorious symphony on my tastebuds. I live 150 miles from this place, but it will be in the future. A dining destination for me!"

"Saw their billboards for Indian food and thought I’d try it when I get a chance. Got one finally. Parking was lots even though there could be better line markings. Food and hospitality fantastic. The gentlemen, especially the one cooking in the restaurant had a big fat smile and energy that is contagious. You can tell he really enjoys cooking and when you taste the food, you will see. Yes it is a bit pricey but any day better than your roller hotdogs and deli which we usually find. Fuel was at least 10-12 cents cheaper compared to the big lots across the street."

"I’m a professional driver and this place was amazing. I parked at pilot and walked 17 minutes to try it out. So happy I did. The walk back was a lot slower because of all the good food in my belly. Definitely marked it on my GPS to return when I’m in the area."
