With a small outdoor patio featuring four tables, The Brown House can accommodate up to 12 guests. Many patrons enjoy taking their meals across the street to Eckhart Park for a lovely picnic experience.
The menu at The Brown House features popular items such as coney dogs, cheeseburgers, hand-breaded tenderloins, and house-made pork BBQ sandwiches. The restaurant is also known for serving the best ice in DeKalb County.
Established in 1949 by the Cole Family at the DeKalb County Free Fall Fair, The Brown House has been a local favorite for decades. In 1975, the restaurant was purchased by Tom and Marsha Armstrong before being acquired by Parker and Erica Klein on July 1, 2019. Both Parker and Erica hold Hospitality Degrees from Purdue University and are dedicated to maintaining tradition while adding new and exciting elements to the restaurant.
