"This bank was previously Florida Community Bank before they got bought out by Synovus. I have been going to this bank for years and have never had an issue with them before. Valerie as always have me a comforting smile when I came in, I told her I was upset about how Synovus was charging me extra overdraft fees for no reason. She sent me to Sam, and that’s where the issue began. I sat down and immediately he sighed as if I was causing an issue, when I hadn’t said a word to him yet. I explained to him my situation, he treated me as if I was stupid and tried reading off my charges to me. I told him I knew what my charges were, but there were extra overdraft fees posted to my account that shouldn’t be there. He printed out a sheet that showed my transactions and yet again, tried reading me back my transactions. So I changed the question. “Can you show me where these extra overdraft fees are coming from?” He goes quiet. He searches the papers. He points to some other transactions that weren’t even done until after my account was in the positives again. He was guessing, and he was wrong about it. I told him how that didn’t make sense because those weren’t done until after my account was in the positives, and he said “Well that’s just the way it is.” Oh. Excuse me. THAT’S JUST THE WAY IT IS? That’s just the way it is when Synovus gets money hungry and people who you can’t even see in front of you get their hands on your money. That’s just the way it is when Synovus gets their greedy hands on YOUR hard earned money. I told Sam “I need to talk to someone else.” Because no, that’s not just the way it’s going to be. He sighed again, and told me to come back because the woman who I needed to speak to was on lunch. I told him, “No. I’ll wait.” Because I work in customer service and I know well enough that he would try to tell her something completely different than the actual attitude he gave me. So I waited. She finally came and told me she would open a case for me and finally someone told me they were going to do something about it, because she said she couldn’t see why they were charging me more overdrafts either. Finally. She knows that this is my money that I worked hard for and if Synovus tries to stick their grimy fingers in my pockets, I’m going to fight it. And of course, as I left, Sam was leaned up against the counter glaring me down with a lollipop in his mouth when I left. Sorry not sorry. By the way... this all happened the day AFTER I spent an HOUR on the phone with Synovus and they all tried to convince me to just pay it. Moral of the story: -I really miss Florida Community Bank. -Synovus is greedy and does not care if they take your hard earned money. -Synovus over the phone can’t really do anything. -Valerie and the woman who took care of me are saints. -Do NOT go see Sam unless you want to leave the bank infuriated. Synovus needs to do better."

"If you’re looking to open an account or fed up with the big boy banks, take a look at FCB, I have been with them since they took over this location from First National of Florida (I was with them since they started). I have never paid a penny in fees. The Staff are fantastic. The online banking is so easy and simple to use. The only down side is they need more branches around."

"I have been banking with FCB since it was in the old Winn Dixie. I am always pleased with the service that I receive at this branch! They are always polite and personal and I can always get through to someone on the phone without having to "press" a million numbers."
