"I asked the Owner, Mike about this Marla H. complaint on Yelp and was told that this situation is totally out of context with her. This company is the most honest, prompt, trustworthy, hardworking, dependable and courteous of any company I have worked with in my many years. Marla H. would not wait for this company to get she and her husband positioned on the schedule. Within one half hour of Mike speaking with her, Marla found another company and totally circumvented Mike's scheduled time for this cross country move. Mike was driving and could not work on his schedule right away. Mike did not give her the deposit back, because he was in the process of scheduling the move for her and she simply refused to wait. In Mike's mind, they had a verbal contract. From my perspective, this team moved us more than once..even in and out of storage units that were a long way from their truck. We were Thrilled that this Hometown Movers team are handymen...I am talking ALL of them! We just moved into our second home in The Villages and within three hours, they put together a console with a fireplace, a table with four chairs, cabinets and towel bars in our bathroom, a drop down folding table for my laundry, a two part curved shower rod and a medicine cabinet for over our our deep sink in the garage. Also, they moved heavy items around for us. Mike is a man with a wife and lots of kids. He cannot afford to be dishonest or a slacker. Even when I prepared lunch for all of the guys, they ate while they worked."

"In planning our move from The Villages, Florida I contacted four (4) moving companies and interviewed representatives from each. Parker at Hometown Movers quoted me a price that was almost 50% less than the next lowest quote and about 60% less than the other two. Naturally I was concerned about the potential of problems using a relatively "low cost" mover. Nevertheless, I did contract with Parker and gave him a deposit. AFTER my check was deposited I had a change of plans. I called Parker and spoke to his boss, Mike. After explaining that I would not need them Mike immediately agreed to return my deposit and less than 24 hours later he did so. I believe this speaks highly of Hometown Movers' professionalism and customer satisfaction."
