"Spirit Airlines is the worst run airline I’ve experienced in my 50 years of flying. Bait and switch pricing. Poor customer service. Delays. Run down aircraft. It seems like it’s cost effective until you suddenly have to pay for extras and seats and bags. I’m surprised they don’t have a toilet fee or surcharge for breathing oxygen on flight. I imagine in an emergency they’ll be charging for life vests."

"I normally leave reviews and they are ALWAYS accurate — my flight from EWR & JFK — firstly, I got to the airport with enough time to be able to get onto my flight but apparently they closed the gate 45 minutes before FORCING me to pay $300 additional (3 fliers: $99 PP) for rescheduling — well this flight in particular was absolutely horrible. I have videos to prove the discomfort I had to experience the entire way and with no help at all from the crew members. Two parents just allowing their children to be disrespectful - loud - obnoxious - jumping on the tray - looking over my seat — they were singing loudly — just absolutely making my flight the absolutely worse ever. Crew members just thinking that was totally okay. Originally I used to fly with Spirit before and sometimes I had a good experience and then I had bad experiences - I knew I shouldn’t of flown with spirit but I said “let me give it a try - it’s been 5 years…” all for this to happen .. this is ridiculous - if I could give it 0 stars I SURE WOULD .."

"Worst customer service ever! Was denied on my domestic flight today 1 HOUR before it left because it was conveniently to late for them. Was forced to buy 3 more tickets for tomorrow wrecking all my plans. Asked for a manager for help and I had to chance him down, they simply do not care! Avoid at all cost flying this airline"

"Extremely upset. Our flight was set to leave on Friday 2/3 and we received an email (not a call) on 2/1 that the flight was cancelled. The flight is STILL showing available on Google Flights, etc. When we contacted customer service we spoke with a lady with a rooster going off behind her and she basically said we can pay an extra $1000 for the flight. She gave NO explanation as to why our flight was cancelled but still allowing us to reserve online, and when we asked to speak with a manager she hung up on us. We then called back and spoke with someone else who basically said we were out of luck and there's nothing they can do. What happened? They know we paid under $400 for a plane ticket in December and decided that wasn't acceptable and wanted more money from us. I am DISGUSTED with this airline. The amount of stress, the additional expense, the lousy good for nothing customer service. I'll never recommend this airline and I will drag Spirit through the mud unless we are compensated. Thanks for giving us the worst start to our vacation. Which we then had to cancel. EDIT TO ADD: I continued to follow our flights online. Both took off on schedule, on time. Filed with the BBB and still no contact. What a sad customer service department y'all have. Spirit Airlines should feel ASHAMED. Get someone else to manage your customer service."

"Spirit Airlines have come a long way. My flight with them was very nice. Customer service was professional And respectful. Flight crew is professional, fun and down to earth, with safety on their mind. Price was, pretty affordable too. Made me feel very safe and comfortable to continue to fly with them."
