"I had been looking for an apartment in the Gables but had not considered Gables Columbus. However, I was walking by and decided to check them out on a whim. An hour later I was filling out my application. All thanks to David, the leasing agent who absolutely blew me away with his service. I am so excited to be a new resident of this wonderful community and am looking forward to many years of experiencing the best building in the Gables! Tha KS you David!!!!"

"Most of these poor reviews are about rent. It’s not a property-specific issue it’s all of south Florida. The property itself has location as its number 1 draw. Very few areas in Miami are walkable. This is 9/10. The views are amazing. Pool area is great and quiet. Maintenance requests are typically done same business day. Daytime concierge is excellent. The overnights do have some gaps so they could use sure extra help. If you are looking to replace your gym this probably won’t be it. It is tiny. Works for me but I workout midday so can’t speak for busier times. I find people friendly enough but if you are looking for a “community” maybe join a social club. If you’re looking for a quiet, clean, safe and nice place to live you’ll like living here."

"They don't update their listings and pricing is all over the place... an apartment ranges from $4100 to 5200 depending on how many months you rent it??? It's not the difference in a 1 or 2 yr lease; it's a 12,13 or 15 month lease option and it makes absolutely no sense. Apt 1707 has been on market for 5 months now. Good luck with that. Update: the response from management below is a joke. I've been in contact with their team and they always fail to address my issues on the phone."

"Grumpy residents everywhere. If you are considering this place as a corporate rental or temporary housing for 6-9 months and somebody else (ie: your company or your parents) is paying the bill then this building is good for you. Especially if you spend 6-10 hours a day away from your apartment/the building. There is zero community here. In the time that we've lived here, we've seen many of the people leave because of exorbitant rent increases. When the person leaves, they list the unit at astronomical price and then start reducing it the more time that it sits on the market. Also the management office will call people and offer a 'special rate' over the phone which is never published. After speaking with others in the building, some recent rentals have gone for around 20-25% below the publicly published price. My renewal is coming up and I saw my exact same unit (on a higher floor) going for much LESS than what I am currently paying. It's been on the market now since for at least 4 months. Also similar to the most recent review below, the front desk and concierge service is abysmal. Nobody is ever there. This building is understaffed and they care deeply about maximizing profit from a spreadsheet. The business model is to get you in the door and then slap you with a huge rent increase when your renewal comes around. I will update this review after my renewal comes in."

"We were unimpressed in the cost relative to the value at this building. We felt that service declined over the two years we lived there. Given the double digit rent increases each year, we ultimately decided to move. For those rates, and with the new Lifetime building opening, there are better luxury buildings in the area with better services for residents. The composition of the building also changed - the pool went from being fairly quiet to being quite busy with children on weekends. The concierge service is what had the biggest decline. They were never at the desk, rarely answered the phone, and because more interested in policy enforcement than providing a service. One night at 10:00 p.m. I received a call on my cell phone from the concierge who was reconciling package pickups because "it was a big focus of corporate." I don't know what that means but surely corporate does not want you waking residents up to verify that they picked up their packages. We moved out 4 months ago, paid our bill, and were refunded our security deposit. Just today I received an invoice for $16 for the final trash bill - really?? I'd recommend anyone considering an apartment at this price point to consider some of the other options in the area."
