Lake Point Senior Apartments

"My aunt lives here. Her apartment is small but adequate for just her. The common areas of the building are kept clean and tidy. While I visited the cleaning/repair staff was friendly. As were the neighbors on her floor. There was one gentleman who seems to roam the hallways at all times of day and night. He looks a bit off. I was concerned about my safety in regards to him, during my stay."

"I feel senior citizens should BEWARE of the new management at “Lake Point Senior Apartments” at 1821 Dora Avenue in Tavares FL. I tried to get a apartment at Lake Point toward the end of summer 2022. I started the process with the old management company(Picerne Management Corporation). I filed my application and paid the application fee($35.00) and paid the 1st part of my deposit($100.00) with the old management company(Picerne) and that process was going ok. Then I was informed by the old management company(Picerne) that I was approved, but a new management company(Hallmark Companies Incorporated) would be taking over the management of the Lake Point Senior Apartments and that my application and the 1st part of my deposit($100.00) would be transferred to Hallmark and that Hallmark should contact me to finish the process. When Hallmark took over, I was in limbo for weeks because I feel they did not have a manager ready to manage Lake Point and I had to find a different place to live. Then I was finally able to talk with a temporary manager at Lake Point and informed her that I had to find a different place to live and I requested the 1st part of my deposit($100.00) be refunded to me and I feel she misled me and lied to me about my deposit money. Then I contacted Hallmark’s corporate office(Atlanta GA) and I was referred to a district manager. After leaving several messages for her to call me, I finally was able to talk with her and again I requested the 1st part of my deposit($100.00) be refunded to me and I feel she too misled me and lied to me about my deposit money. I then contacted Hallmark’s corporate office again and asked to talk with a member of their upper management and I was transferred and I left a message to call me and they did not call me back. I feel that Lake Point or their company(Hallmark) still owes me $100.00 for the 1st part of my deposit. I filed a complaint against Hallmark with Florida’s Consumer Services. And after 30+ days, Hallmark did not respond to Florida’s Consumer Services about my complaint / deposit. So, I feel I should now file a complaint against Hallmark at the Better Business Bureau website. Again, I feel senior citizens should BEWARE of the new management at Lake Point and their company(Hallmark). Michael B."

"Its a really nice senior living apartments and most the people were friendly but some of the people who live there were rude and acted like it was there building even after telling them management said it was ok to move in a woman thew the front door bc of elevator and she didn't have much stuff some of the elders were nasty and very rude they were being Karen's and wouldn't stop being nasty twords us while we were moving in a new resident.. We didn't block the doorway or the roundabout at the front door and they acted like we backed up to the front door an even said they were gona call the cops.. Some people need to mind there own business if management said it was ok as long as we didn't block anything at the front door.. Other then that this place is beautify with a nice pool and sitting areas and lost of parking"

"I lived here for 2 years and in that time the monthly rent has escalated by $50 a month! The building is in serious need of repairs, (mold on verandah ceiling, etc.), current manager ignores residents (hides behind closed office doors). Apartments are extremely small with very little storage area. I have moved to a much better place and would not recommend this building or the management to anyone. Many of my friends there are also moving out & those that can't are very unhappy and have expressed zero confidence in the management. Beware!"

"I lived in Lakepoint on and off for 5 yrs. I’m moving back to the community as soon as there is a unit available.I lived in various places but nothing’s compares to Lakepoint. The residents are wonderful,the staff very friendly I feel secure which is the best thing for me,the cleanliness you can’t compare and most of all they accept my doggies. Great place to live."
