Reviews
"Worth it if you can handle walking on deep sandy trails and the sun beating down on you. No shade for most of the time, so, prepare and bring a lot of water. There are points of interests that make it all worth it!"
"No charge to park and several miles of marked trails to enjoy. Dog friendly until the deep, soft, blindingly white sand gets too hot for paws in the summer. Great hike on an overcast spring day. Watch out for hogs at dusk or dawn."
"At first I thought the park was closed, there’s a locked gate at the entrance - but as you approach you’ll see how to get in. I was very thankful for the 2021 Hillsborough County hiking spree signs placed throughout. Just relying on the posts with blue spray paint would be a little difficult. I picked the blue Lake Trail, blue lake was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. A little bit of Highway 75 traffic sounds - probably just because of the time of day I went. Very peaceful, lots of birds to listen to. When I got to about marker nine on the blue Lake Trail it was pretty muddy and had to turn around so I ended up being closer to 4 miles according to my Fitbit by the time I was done. Really enjoyed the hike. 4 stars only because I couldn’t do the full trail (due to mud)."
"Had a nice hike. A few trails were a bit overgrown so I did not hike the whole loop but went around the high grass areas. There is a bathroom and picnic table that is under shade. check out those pretty cactus and the yellow asters!! Be prepared for sand hiking and biting fly's."
