Hog Pond Trail Withlacoochee State Forest

"Hog Pond trail is part of a wildlife management area, hunting is allowed but none observed during our visit (see picture). Trail head has three trails to choose from, we choose the maintenance road to Hog Pond area. The trail is mobility scooter friendly and is 1.5 miles each way. There are four ponds that appear to be man made lime rock quarries. Fishing is allowed and we saw bass and brim in each pond, caught 2 small bass and threw them back. Beautiful hike with a variety of wildlife seen."

"It's a really nice hike to see the ponds. It's about 1.4 miles to the ponds and well worth the walk. The scenery changes quite q bit along the way. There's plenty of shade along the way, but a cloudy, breezy day would be a good day for this trail. The sign for trailhead is not easy to see but Google maps gets you there."
