"HIDDEN IN A HOUSING BLOCK built during the 1970s, the lake is mostly bordered by single-family houses and streets thick with precious old oaks. It is self contained, meaning there is no boat access, and hosts turtles, moscovy ducks, egrets, peacocks on occasion, anhingas, and a solitary domestic duck who is purely white. Known by some locals as Elvis, for a distinctive flurry of head feathers the King would envy, he routinely circles the perimeter of Leaping Cat Lake at dusk. (January 2021)"
