Pro Shop Pub is a historic bar located at 840 Cleveland Street in Clearwater, Florida. Known as the Tampa Bay area's after-work gathering place, it boasts the longest running Happy hours from 11am until 7pm for over 43 years. This colorful establishment has a rich history, as documented by Washington Post reporter Drew Harwell in 2011. Originally established in 1976, Pro Shop Pub has been a sanctuary and meeting place for both gay and straight clientele. Despite facing challenges and discrimination in its early days, the pub has thrived and continues to be a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. "It was like hanging at a gay cheers. The drinks were just right and you can smoke inside. I was provided a special ashtray for my cigar. The bartender was very attentive and played some cool retro tunes. I'll definitely be back!"
"Stopped here after leaving Clearwater Beach and it was soooooooo smokey inside we turned around and left! In their defense they do have a sign on the door warning you that smoking is allowed inside this establishment but it was really bad inside."
"Just an old, quiet gay bar. Has a pool table. Comes with some older guys that want to watch but not play. No frills bar, but a good spot to grab a drink and meet up with someone, if you don't wanna drive all the way to Tampa or St. Pete."
