"This is an excellent local nature center. It has short but beautiful walking trails that are easy for those of any age. Grrat opportunities to see wildlife. The staff is friendly and informative. And they have many scheduled activities. My kids loved it."

"I love bringing my kids to trout lake because of the 2 learning centers located there. So many cool things to look at. Many insect displays that are so well preserved!. One of the trails leads to a lake where you may spot a turtles or some gators. The butterfly garden is blooming around spring time and so many butterflies fluttering everywhere. I love coming and admiring the grandfather oak tree, that according to employees, has been there since Thomas Jefferson was born! It’s beautiful and worth coming out to feel it’s life and beauty!"

"We love nature! And this place fit the bill perfectly! It cost $5 per vehicle. They have two buildings full of stuffed animals/insects. So many we hand them ever seen. Especially some creepy bugs. One has a hands on table for kids with all things nature they an touch and explore, libraries where you can checkout a book or two. Then we took the Haselton Nature trail that took us to a nice big alligator off the dock and on the way back bobcat trail which was short and fun. All the trails were pretty short and kid friendly but most importantly just beautiful! There’s a butterfly garden and a picnic are by this beautiful oak Tree. Can’t wait to take the kids back! They have on going programs too."

"Beautiful park with nature center, historical museum and hiking trails. The nature center has an impressive butterfly collection and a beautiful diorama with local wildlife on display. The volunteers were super nice. We really enjoyed hiking their trails; which took about two hours. I highly recommend this park."

"Visited here for the first time over spring break. First and foremost- it's free! I really enjoyed the walking trails. There were plank/boardwalk sections on the trail over areas that are wet/flooded. It had just rained the day before, so these areas were completely wet and made for some beautiful scenery. I also really enjoyed the grandfather oak tree with all of the wind chimes. The wind started blowing as soon as we got to the tree and it made the most beautiful, relaxing sound. We finished our walk out by the lake. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. There are also two museum/informational buildings that you can visit. I stopped into one quickly but will have to check these out in more detail next visit."
