"Nice place for the younger kids and where they can practice snorkeling. Will be back again... Parking and issue, costs $20 for 4 hours, walk to the local a bit long because of construction. Still good little beach for the kids."

"Dangerous! Pretty pools, but absolutely ripe with HUGE jellyfish! It's mid-August and this area is completey unswimmable. The jellyfish are about 12-16 inches in diameter throughout shallow pools along the point, with as much as 1-2 animals per square foot of water. The shores were also covered in dead jellyfish, so you couldn't get very close to the water's edge either. Beyond these pools, there are rock retainer walls, then a busy causeway with too much water traffic to safely enter the water. This presents a second danger - heat exhaustion. We kayaked to the point because all of the parking and walking paths on the point are now closed to the public. Once we docked on the bay side, we had to walk around the dunes to get oceanside. There's no shade and no safe water access, so I don't recommend this adventure at this time of the year."

"Go. Right now! It was so much fun and could stay occupied with some goggles exploring the water for hrs! This was so much more funner than the beach itself. And no big waves knocking you over. There is so much life to watch in the water & we caught a crab, saw a puffer fish & a sea turtle & dolphins nearby! & found some cool shells. Lifeguards are on duty at certain times. I'd get there as early as 9:30 am.. there's a fee to park along the road, and it's a long walk. We stayed at the condo on the entrance, so free parking and not too bad as a walk. Unfortunately, they make it 10x longer to get to with all everything blocked off."

"The best spot to take the kids! A must visit place if your vacationing in Destin! It was away from the waves and shallow enough for all ages! Also the water was crystal clear. This is a hidden gem in Destin. A little tricky to get to though. Especially with all the construction going on at norriego point."

"Parking is limited and not free . It's costs 5 bucks. The beach itself is a pretty good walk from the Parking lot and there are no facilities available ie bathrooms or grills. Great spot to watch boats coming in and out of the harbor . It gets pretty rough here with the wake from the boats"
