Visitors can also enjoy the sight of a heron rookery and learn about the park's history and natural features through educational signage. The pavilion can be rented for private events by contacting the Community Center. Those planning to launch kayaks and paddle boards from the park are encouraged to use the designated loading/unloading area and to utilize the nearby Zerbe/Calhoun City Parking Lot. "This hidden gem is an excellent small park to bring the kids, have a picnic or enjoy the water and the views! It has a playground and splash pad for the kids. It has a small beach and a pier. It also has covered picnic tables. It also has a launch ramp for non motorized floats such as paddle boards. There are also very nice restrooms facilities! Such a beautiful and peaceful place amidst the hustle and bustle of Destin!"
"Splash pad! This park is pretty fun for a healthy mix of all kid ages. There is a nice little splash pad and a little sandy beach that goes into the bay. There is also a nice little nature path and a playground. The play ground is filled with wood chips though not the best for really small kiddos but as long as you have shoes on and don’t take a big stumble you should leave splinter free. There are public bathrooms which is a plus and plenty of covered picnic tables. There is a space you can reserve for parties too, I believe. This place can get crowded during summer since it is relatively close to touristy areas but a nice little reprieve off the main roads. Bring extra clothes and snacks and water, you’ll spend most of your day if not your total day here."
"Great park, no dogs is definitely not enforced which was annoying. The beach area is very small. Shallow so perfect for little kids, but not much room for parents. Lots of seating with umbrellas up next to the playground."
