Sunnyside Cafe

"Very disappointed with my first experience at Sunnyside Cafe. I ordered an “everything” bagel which had only a sparse amount of seeds on top. It was bland and not toasted, which may be my fault because I assumed it would be and did not request it. It was overloaded with cream cheese so I scraped some off. My husband attempted to order an egg salad on a croissant. They didn’t even know right away that they were out of egg salad. This to me was unusual being two of the items on their limited menu involved egg salad. He ended up ordering a slice of banana bread which tasted as though it contained banana flavoring rather than the real thing. We both felt the price was exuberant for what we ordered, the quality of the food, and being a self-service type restaurant. One everything bagel with cream cheese, a slice of banana bread and two very small cappuccinos set us back close to $30. The cappuccinos were decent."

"Coffee was ok. Music too loud to have a conversation easily. Literally one of the worst danish I’ve ever had. Looks great though! Got a refund easily. Friendly staff. Quick service, but not busy either."

"We ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast, we give it a 3/10 - the flavor was okay but portion was ridiculously small for a $15 dollars toast. We also ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. It definitely had oat milk - not sure about the coffee. The coffee was served on a to go cup even though we ordered to eat on site. The cappuccino was also so small and expensive. The service was so disappointing, the waiter almost throw the cappuccino on the table and didn’t apologize."

"Decided to look for a breakfast place other than the usual and came across this place which had good reviews so we decided to try it. It did not disappoint the staff was nice, food was delicious and bathrooms were clean. Definitely going back there whenever we are in the area."

"We entered the cafe surprised at the size and their many offerings. I was hungry after our morning walk in the park so I indulged. I ordered their egg salad croissant and a cappuccino and a lavender kombucha. The kombucha was for a later time but I couldn't resist seeing how much I love lavender. My husband ordered the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel and a super green smoothie. Breakfast was delicious. Everything tasted good and the serving size was just the right amount. We took a seat that gave us a full view of the cafe. I love how nicely the place is decorated with live plants everywhere. You can tell they take good care of them. I wish we were asked if this was our first time at the cafe because it would have avoided the confusion. Now, we're clear. Order at the counter, pay and then you'll be given a table number. You can choose your seat and when the food is ready you'll be served. Simple but it wasn't clear when we entered."
