Delray Breakers on the Ocean

"I visited July 2023. When I arrived they gave me the key to my room. When I walked in it was full of propane gas smell. I checked the stove and saw the gas burner had been left on. It must have been for some time because the smell was through out the room and very bad. The office moved me to another room. That new room had a VERY LARGE patch of mold on the ceiling. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I did not stay. I asked for my money to be returned, which they did. Fortunately, for me I was only a few hours away from home. If you are considering a long trip to Delray Breakers, I hope your experience is better than mine or you will be in a very difficult position. The office manager was cooperative but very unfriendly and unprofessional. (not mike, his wife)."

"We stayed here after Thanksgiving, a family of four with two small children. Our stay was pleasant and we will definitely come back. Granted the property does need renovation and certain pieces of furniture are outdated, the kitchen in particular. BUT everything is immaculately clean and housekeeping is super efficient. The rooms were very spacious and the beds ultra comfortable. The common areas are very well maintained and the direct access to the beach is superb. The pool is clean and the complimentary coffee and drinks are a nice touch. Booking process was easy and the staff was friendly and professional. The whole area was quiet and we got great rest, as well as nice and quality beach time for our kids. Would certainly recommend."

"I had a great experience here the entire time after evacuating here from the west coast during Ian. The room was adorable and comfortable and loved having a full kitchen with gas stove and even a stainless steel fridge. Not a mini fridge! (All of the necessary cooking tools are provided here too. So you can come with just food.) I stayed here the last time over 40 years ago as a kid. My parents used to love to come here in the 70's and 80's. I feel it is a very special place. I was so glad though to see that the rooms had been updated to a beachy chic that was perfectly comfortable and relaxing. I believe every room has at least a partial view of the ocean. Some rooms allow dogs, luckily for us! Solid as a rock too. Don't expect total perfection please. It is beachy and it was built in the 50's. Have a heart and a sense of place. Embrace the minor flaws as character and you'll be much happier in your life. It is clean. They do a good job. The staff was also so kind! Crystal in the office is a gem! She was so helpful and sweet. This place kept me safe and happy in an uncertain storm amidst many tornadoes. Gotta love that 1950's solid, concrete block construction! LOVED my stay here and I hope to come back again for many years!! Thank you."
