Holiday Inn Express & Suites Florida City-Gateway To Keys, an IHG Hotel 35200 South Dixie Highway, Florida City, FL 33034

"This hotel served us well providing good access to the Everglades and to the Keys. Our room was clean, but very dated and uninteresting. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The complementary breakfast was pretty unimpressive. Overall, the hotel was good enough to provide a base from which we could explore the area, but no character or amenities that would compel us to spend any more time at the hotel than we needed."

"Great location on the way to everglades or the Keys. No hot breakfast but this was not mentioned on check-in. I had read previous review from a couple of months ago about an "oven broke" sign. The sign still exists, sadly enough. Breakfast attendant was great though. Air conditioner in room sounded like a jet taking off so we were happy to only stay 1 night. Doesn't seem to meet standards of other HIE we've stayed at."

"I am an IHG member and usually prefer to stay at Holiday Inn Expresses during my travels. I had a long weekend stay during MLK weekend of 2024. Staff members were all friendly and let us check in about 1 hour earlier, and breakfast service staff were nice and attentive. Housekeeping staff was great. Everything else was not up to par. The bathroom is redone, but there are no bars or hooks for hanging things. The rooms themselves are dated and do not cool off well. The hallways smell like mildew. There is only one elevator, and it is very slow. There are no clearly marked stairs. There was no hot breakfast any of the days we were there because the "oven was broken," but after looking at reviews, it looks like it's been "broken" for several weeks, which shows management is not interested in fixing anything. Other Holiday Inn Expresses have usually had ice water, hot water, and coffee available 24/7; however, there was NOTHING available when it was not breakfast time. The pool has been closed for several weeks as well. They say this place is "under renovation" but it is unclear what they are trying to improve, because certainly nothing obvious is being fixed. There looked like a fairly new Fairfield Inns and Suites right next door- I would recommend looking there, or elsewhere, instead of staying at this hotel. I was sorely disappointed by my stay."

"Paid for this trip months ago. Chose it because hot breakfast and pool. I get here and not until after check in do we get told about the pool. But nothing was said about breakfast. We came down to find a sign..and cereal. I currently can't eat cereal. So now I have to go elsewhere to have a hot breakfast. I get it...when we booked the hotel these things probably weren't a problem. But you should notify people of these changes because now I'm stuck here for a week with nothing I Paid for."

"Our stay here was adequate but definitely a struggle. They put us on a floor that was half under renovation, which was fine. They left a note in our room apologizing for that and said they could move us to another room due to the inconvenience. Why put us on a floor and then act surprised it was under renovation? The room was fine but needs some real updates. I would stay at the hotel next door instead. It was a great location for going to the Everglades and Biscayne. The breakfast food itself was barely edible but the attendant was on top of everything he could be."
