Paddletail Lodge

"It's okay, we came here back in October and everything was under construction. This time we have come here, and it is okay. The coffee shop is apparently open but I have yet to see anyone there. The gift shop is open daily at 12:00 but it was closed today. The pillows are terrible so terrible it's worth mentioning. Definitely not for anyone who is looking to have a good night sleep. They have no stuffing and when you ask for extra pillows, they give you half size pillows that are also extremely soft and lacking stuffing so your just rolling pillows around all night for some kind of support. I wish the new owner would invest in some nicer pillows Pool and hot tub are fun, it's a good place to stay if you don't plan on hanging around the hotel much. The staff is super friendly, nice and accommodating."

"Really disappointed with this hotel experience because they do not have a free breakfast. They advertised a free breakfast and do not have it seven dollars for two coffees. There is no coffee machine in the room super misleading on the website on Priceline. I will never stay here again way too overpriced."

"This is a remodel hotel, The staff is excellent, Good location, clean rooms, do not expect fancy rooms, but they are comfortable and spacious, closed to restaurants, water and chatters to take you to see the manatees. We will be back we had a great time."

"So I’ve stayed at this place several times when it was the best western. It is now the paddle tail Lodge. The prices have gone up. The rooms have been remodeled. There is now no longer a free breakfast. They don’t have coffee in the lobby. There is no coffee pot in the room. They have placed a coffee shop where you can buy coffee in the lobby, they called themselves resort, however, they don’t give you a free bottle of water in the room even. Not sure how they consider themselves a resort. I had confirmed my reservation the day before arrival. When I showed up everything was wrong. They finally tried to correct it, but gave me a lesser room, but kept the same room charge until I brought it to their attention. They said they gave me a 10% discount but it was only 5% after I brought the discrepancy to their attention. The gentleman checking in at the same time got a free upgrade to his room and they offered him free coffee. I had to ask for coffee voucher and they balked. The pool and hot tub were down, they said it was due an electrical issue, but I stayed there in November and it was down then too. Overall, the rooms didn’t even have a pen, a notepad, or a coaster to place a drink on. you’re not getting what you pay for. Hopefully this place will improve with time but it’s not worth it right now. There are other choices in the area. Last thing, the rooms were very noisy could hear everything on either side of me and above me. They also send a lot of text messages. The check-in ones said try the paddle tail, punch and cookies, but when I arrived, there wasn’t any."

"I booked what I thought was the Best Western but then received confirmation emails from Paddletail. Perhaps they are one and the same now? Confusing. Anyway, terrific location, clean warm rooms (not exactly 5 stars decor-wise and a fairly expensive room at $185 a night, but very comfortable). The front desk people were all very welcoming and pleasant. I think they have a marketing manager who just graduated college and is a little too enthusiastic, as we received no fewer than 8 texts about our arrival, our stay etc. Overkill. Kind of amusing, but one more and I would have been irritated, haha."
