Originally starting out selling cowboy hats at various events and fairs, the owners decided to open a brick-and-mortar store as a home base for their loyal customers. After searching for the perfect location, they finally found it in downtown Tavares. The store officially opened its doors in December 2022, welcoming friends, old and new, to come and browse their selection of western wear.

"It was so nice to meet the owners of The Rowdy Cowboy yesterday. I saw it on the internet, and I live in Tavares, and the store is conveniently located just a couple blocks West of downtown Tavares on Main Street. The couple that owns the store were busy getting ready for a rodeo, but they took the time and were so kind to me. They helped me pick out a hat that is perfectly suited to my needs. We will definitely go back as their selection for men and women is amazing and unique."

"I cannot say enough GREAT things about this place or the people that own it! Betty and Raymond really know their stuff about western wear and are both so friendly and helpful. I was looking for a brand of jeans and Betty went out of her way to special order them for me so I bought 2 pair!! The store is small but stocked well, clean and has many different sizes for men, women and kids, jeans, shirts, jewelry, belts, boots and many hats! You have to check this place out!! I know I definitely will be back!!"

"I recently moved to Eustis from Texas and was so pleased to find a western wear / cowboy hat shop in Tavares !!! not only was I pleased they were so close, but they have a great selection of hats and western wear as good as you would find in Gruene Hall Texas or Paris Hatters in San Antonio - so don't make that long trip.....and they can steam/form your hat just the way ya like it here in Central Florida !!!!"
