"Housing- renters insurance- claim filed in July 2023, it is now February 2024 and I’ve had NO communication with our adjuster (Ashlynn) and have no idea if there has been any work done on our claim at all. SEVEN months of silence. Horrible."

"I'm actually giving Assurant insurance company negative 5 stars for the service they provide. We had a hail storm in May. When we called Assurant they transferred us to a variety of different numbers, one of the numbers they transferred us to was for a $100. Walmart gift card. Once the claim was finally in (July) they drug their feet. Approved in December. But not for what the requirements were. We attempted to contact the claims adjuster Thomas Guzman several times he never answered his phone never returned messages. His manager Carmen Costa was the same way. It is now February still the contractor can't start."

"Got a refurbished phone and returned my broken phone to Assurant in their prepaid envelope. Nevertheless, I received a bill for over $300. They said that they received the phone and will take care of the matter. Approximately 3 months later, they said the package is empty and I have to pay for the phone. A bubble envelope that is 6.5 oz and hand delivered to their employee is now empty. The staff was unprofessional, nasty, and rude, hanging up on the customer. It is a racket. You pay insurance, return phone and pay again. I will not pay again. Wish I could give zero rating. Awful company."

"This company is a scam and I advise everyone to not purchase any product or protection plans from them. I purchased a John Deer lawn mower from Lowe’s and I paid almost $500 for an extended protection plant, what I didn’t know was that Assurant was the insurance provider anyway to make the story short my machine broke down and they declined the repair because in the bottom of their policy they found something to decline my repair."
