"As many reviews also stated I was frustrated at first, but as long as you know how to submit your claims with all the necessary info and truly understand what they cover I don't think you'll be disappointed. My first claim took a few weeks because the asked for vet records dating back years. I thought that was silly for a simple vomiting episode but I assume now it's because it was the first claim and they wanted to know more about the dog etc. They said they reached out to the vet but please just take it upon yourself to call the vet and get your records emailed over to submit them yourself. So when I finally did that and called spot to confirm I had sent them it was approved in just a few days. My next claim is why I'm writing this review. I have a small Chihuahua mix and she is not the picture of health. She had pneumonia and stayed a night in ICU with oxygen. My bill was was roughly 1600 and they covered roughly 1500 because I had the illness coverage at 90% and already met my deductible. That's even some of the admittance charge which I didn't even knew they covered. A huge weight off my shoulders. Monthly rates can get high depending on what coverage you choose and how old/what breed your pet is but mine are fairly low. Spot has really come through for me in a stressful time and it's one of the best choices I made for my pet. I'll be upping my annual coverage when I can because it's come in so handy for this big emergency."

"This was my first experience with pet insurance. My puppy (Bernese Mountain Dog) went through an “eating everything except food” phase, so he had a couple of trips to the vet for blockage. I had my paperwork, but kept putting off filing with Spot Pet Insurance because I just dreaded the process. (Not filed correctly, send more information, not covered, etc.) Well, it turns out that anxiety was all for nothing! The filing process could not have been easier. When additional documentation was needed, they contacted the vet directly instead of asking me to do it. And then… shockingly… they approved and paid my claim in less than 7 days!!!
