"I chose Sunshine Pediatrics due to referrals. Since 2012, my three children have had the BEST care by Doctor Rich. He has literally always supported me, aligned with my values, expressed his medical opinion and appreciated mine. My kiddos have been there for 10 years without ever having a complaint or missing an appointment. There is literally nothing better than loving and trusting your pediatrician. Fast forward to last year. We chose to delay vaccines for all of my children (they are all up to date. We just choose to space them and delay since they all stayed at home with me.) Ashley, the office manager who was wonderful, left and there is a new sheriff in charge who is completely unhelpful. The NP refused to give us the 680 form to send our 1.5 year old to daycare with two vaccines on a schedule to do more the next month and the following month after that. We were 100% willing to vaccinate our child. We understand and appreciate vaccines. We are just very much wanting to space them out. The NP refused to give us the form. When I confirmed with the health dept that just one vaccine (we were willing to do more) was enough to receive the 680 form to send the baby to daycare. She refused and said “it wasn’t enough to protect other kids and we were being irresponsible sending our child to school with two vaccine shots, even though we had an appt 30 days later to do two more. I asked to see Dr. Rich and she refused and said he has discharged us from his practice. After doing the same schedule with my other two and being a loyal and great patient for 10 years. Not gonna lie, it hurt. Especially since Dr. Rich has loved our kids, respected us and is a member of our church. To say I was devastated is an understatement. He treated us like family, offered support and loved my kids very much like an extended family member would. I wasn’t treated poorly by Dr. Rich, but by his staff and I’ll be sad for some time that he won’t be treating my 2 year old and my other two kiddos until they age out. We loved Sunshine Peds and are still sad and hurt by how things went down."

"We've had our fair share of visits with four children as patients here. We've also had a few nurses that we did not care for. But overall they take great care of us. We've never actually seen dr. Rodriguez we've only ever seen the nurses. Also the lactation consultant Brooke, she's amazing! Very very quick and thorough when it comes to referrals and medication needed. Whenever you call you're almost instantly put through to someone. Nurses always return calls. They do however need to become more aware of intact care! That was the only issue I have run into with them. Update:: in the 6 years with this practice, we've come to love Dr. Rich. He's amazing."

"Wanted my daughter to go and see him and get her vaccines after Dr. Rodriguez was recommended to us. The lady I talked to on the phone was nothing but terrible. She said they are not accepting new patients that were not up to date with their vaccines. I tried to explain she was just born but she wouldn't listen. He might be good but we will never find out due to his awful office staff - this is a patient's first point in contact, shouldn't they always hire friendly and professional staff?!!"

"We’ve been with Dr. Rich now for about 4 years. The front desk has always been kind and helpful to get us in for a sick visit when we’ve needed one. Dr. Rich, though he’s busy, is always smiling and kind. He’s got a great bedside manner. The kids really like him. If you’re sick, he’ll tell you without fail to eat some chicken soup and crackers! :) There is a newer nurse practitioner or doctor named Lauren and we LOVE her. She seems so kind and thorough."

"We absolutely love LOVE love Dr. Rich and his Nurse Practitioner. He spends so much time with us each time we come. He doesn't just push meds unless you need them. He has the ability to test the blood right there so no unneeded meds will be given to my child. I would drive however far I had to, to see him. And I would come and self pay if he didn't accept our insurance. He's THAT good. He's so nice and informative and very understanding. I love how pro breastfeeding the office is, sporting their very own lactation consultant, Pat, who is also just a gem. I can't say enough good about this office. We were first time parents and so nervous and new to everything. BUT Dr Rich and his staff have made this transition so easy and less scary. Thanks, Sunshine Pediatrics. :)"
