Focus Performing Arts Studio

"Came here to dance with Chris Lupis last night, but wanted to shed some light on the studio as a whole. I grew up in dance studios my entire life, since the age of 2, but never experienced a dance studio as inviting and hospitable as this one. Upon my first visit to this studio, the woman at the front desk was such a pleasure to meet and talk with and very welcoming. I also really loved that whomever responds to Google reviews is professional and kind, that is a great sign that the company is made up of great people. In the restrooms, they have encouraging and positive words written on the walls, which is such an important reminder for our young dancers to see all the time - I love that they added that feature. You can really feel the genuine excitement from the dancers here, and you can feel how family-like they are with one another. The dance rooms vary in size and have spacious rooms, and intimate rooms. I love that they have mirrored windows so the dancers feel more comfortable and less distracted, but parents can still observe. All around great studio, you can tell they all act like family there. I'll be back."

"We have been a part of this studio for 11 years and we love it. My oldest daughter attended for 8 years and was on company 3 years. My youngest daughter is in her 10th year with the studio and her 4th year with the dance company. Every child develops in dance at a different rate and skill level and the teachers work well with all stages of development and are concerned for each child's welfare. They teach proper technique and a wide range of dance styles. Issues are quickly addressed and I always comfortable speaking up if there are problems. As parents, we are kept well informed of upcoming events, fees, etc. I would definately recommend this studio."

"We were happy with the teachers for our daughters, however all the other details surrounding class were disappointing. Let me give you context to be fair. We have a 4 and 5 year old and they just wanted to try out dance. I called 7 studios and one place had a DVD of recital and tickets and I thought, that's too much so I kept calling around. When I called focus I asked about any extra fees. Never was it mentioned about the $90 costume fee (for each) $50 recital fee (for each) for who knows what, money for tights, and then they put siblings in two different shows! So we were asking each family member to pay $30 (for two recital tickets) and to give up 6.5 hours (not exaggerating, each recital was 3hours 15 minutes) and we had to rush home from one to get my other daughter ready and back in time. And my 4 year old wasn't done until 9:15pm, her bedtime is 8pm. They also sent probably 100 emails during the 3 weeks prior to recital. It was a bit much! They also showed movies backstage that were not age appropriate. Too much! If your child is older and serious about dance this may be a great place. If you are looking to try out ballet with young kids, this was a bit excessive and expensive."

"This is my 7 year old's fourth year at Focus. She has adored all of her teachers, particularly Miss Sam, who is firm but also kind. She enjoys when the studio enlists some of the older girls to help out with the classes around recital time. The recitals are well run. The studio offers a variety of classes; my daughter has taken ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop and tumbling. We are very pleased with our experience at Focus!"

"After trying several studios we were so thrilled to find Focus Performing Arts Studio. It became our home studio for many years. We were looking for a studio that truly taught "technique". They provide the core training necessary for a dancer to expand her talent. The owner is actively involved in the studio. She gets to know each dancer and their individual talent. This studio has won several awards in choreography . It is loaded with talented dancer to learn from. I would say Focus is a great TRAINING ground for your little dancer."
