"My wife and I joined this YMCA in hopes to workout and swim. This place allows members to sit on a machine for as long as they want and socialize. They can sit on a machine for30 minutes or longer without a care and the staff does nothing . Even after pointing this out nothing changes. As for the pool, good luck finding a time to use it unless you want to come super early and the outdoor pool is closed half the year. Went down the road to planet fitness and pay a lot less for a cleaner and newer place without the senior citizen social pickup."

"Never been able to play basketball, but they have 3 BASKETBALL COURTS!!? They use them for everything but basketball. I’ve been paying for my membership for years just for that, but they’d rather use the space for their storage and random activities. Every time I come, I’m never able to play. And they have been telling me they’re renovating the courts for months and months, but all they’ve done is store materials on the courts. They need to get their stuff together! What a great organization :) Definitely don’t waste your time here if you would actually like to play basketball."

"After trying almost every gym in the area since moving to Florida, the Y is by far the best. Clean, organized and plenty of equipment for my programming. Looking forward to the renovation for the locker rooms, every establishment has room for improvement and the Y seems to continue to strive for the best result every time."

"The staff is friendly, and they have great programs for swimming, kids exercise, sports, etc. The many pieces of out of order equipment, and the women's locker room though, are completely unacceptable! There's rarely soap in the bathrooms, the toilets don't have doors, rather than tension rods with short shower curtains to "conceal" you. It looks like it has not been cleaned in a year or more. I truly do not understand how it can be this run down! Some other members were telling me that their group of over a dozen submitted letters about this and were told "make a donation and maybe we will fix it. " their team had donated $10k at some point and nothing has been changed."

"First and foremost I would say it’s not the workers fault for these conditions but Volusia county really should be ashamed of themselves for the conditions of the ymca facilities basketball court in DeLand. And field conditions in Deltona. No reason why children should be asked to perform in conditions like these no ac in gym in triple heat index summer days. Really shouldn’t even be allowed and the audacity to continue to charge full price or have the Deltona residents drive to DeLand over 30 min a way to participate when it’s four towns literally in town 5-10 minutes away. The staff tries what they can by propping fans but circulating fans in a poorly insulated tin can circulates heat only. Something needs to be done and this is unacceptable."
