Kim Rust Counseling

"We came to see Dr. Rust in February, 2023 as a referral from my daughter’s counselor, to get her tested and to discover if she had learning disabilities and/or executive functioning issues. We noted that she was struggling with grades and starting and finishing projects and homework ever since reaching middle school where she had individual teachers in individual classrooms. My husband and I met with her and we went through different questionnaires and answered questions that Dr. Rust asked. My daughter came in to speak with her the next week. They spent a lot of time talking and Dr. Rust gave my daughter various established tests including reading, measuring the speed of responses, and other interesting tests. Dr. Rust also asked us for references that she could speak to in order to corroborate information about my daughter and get some more perspectives. So we gave her names of family and friends and teachers that knew my daughter well Within less than two weeks of speaking with the last person, Dr. Rust had assembled the very comprehensive report, including all of the documentation and findings, all the background, introductions, educational, history, medical history, and a summary and recommended next steps at the end. My husband and I were so impressed with the depth of this study, and now there is a clear path to helping my daughter in school with an IEP plan, plus all the other diagnostic outcomes so her teachers can know her learning style better. It really has been a great gift to all of us, and to her, to see how her brain works, her strengths, and her weaknesses that she can work on. We both wished we could have done this when we were kids! We highly recommend Dr. Rust for testing, if your child is struggling in school, there is a reason and these tests really do pinpoint the problems and challenges our child was facing.
