"Advent health Waterman was incredible when it came to delivering my baby (5 stars for delivery and postpartum ward) . The ER was a little more hectic. I understand It is a little more of a different environment than the rest of the hospital because you’ve got to help people immediately - most people were very kind in the rush and thick of everything going on. The only thing that I have a concern about is the fact that there is a two poke rule with nurses and one nurse poked my baby THREE TIMES . Our baby was five days old. . We had a total of four people come in and poke a five day old baby girl NINE TIMES. The fourth attempt was done by the ER doctor with the ultrasound. What I don’t understand is why when someone comes in so little with veins, so small do they not automatically just go for the ultrasound? They try to catheter on her three times as well . And when I speak up I was silenced. I know we needed to get answers, but there has got to be something a little more humane than this. When I asked the doctors about how many times you could poke somebody I was concerned that we were going to put her into some kind of cardiac arrest. I was told that she could go into cardiac arrest without antibiotics (even though we don’t know what we were fighting and she had no fever at the time in the hospital stay). It was just a really rough rough Situation altogether. unfortunately it really did hurt my family to watch this and more so our 5 day old baby girl. I just would like for this to be addressed because I think when a five day old baby comes in there should be one attempt for an IV and then immediately get the ER doctor with the ultrasound. Too many times scars a family. And threatening us with DCF isn’t fair either bc she was not running a fever and we were doing everything to try to help our baby girl, which is why we brought her in. 5days old… you need to get An ultra sound For the IV and not put a baby through so much torment. It was awful."

"Everyone at the ER was amazing! Caring & professional! Thank you! And I appreciated the THREE follow up calls (doctor, nurse & department head) to see how I was doing. I felt your team really cared about how Jones’s doing."

"I was injured from a fall and the most severe injury was near my eye. From the time I arrived, the staff was supportive. From the front desk to the initial nurse and then the doctor, nurse, and other staff in the room, I was in good hands. They patched and stitched me up and then I was released. They were quite busy but that did not prevent them from providing excellent care to me."

"I cane to the hospital with a fairy severe infection and hive covering my body almost completely . I was seen and given attention within 5 minutes. The attending nurse gave me immediate care complete with information and professional attitude. She wen t about her duties. She took blood and got enough to run an extensive battery of tests so I wouldn't have to be stuck more than necessary. The doctor came and made quick cal culated decisions That worked. It's been three days now and progress in my condition is remarkable. I'll always be scared of the hospital because of past problems but because of your care ot so scared I don't go. Thank you so much. I wish I knew the nurses name. She was awesome."

"I have a brain tumor (non cancerous) that is prone to e bleeding and despite being dizzy & having a headache for 4 days, I was made to wait in the lobby for 2.5 hours. I am also 9 weeks very high risk gestation. I was given a shot with Benadryl in it and then told to leave/ discharge less than two hours later (my ride was an hour and a half away). I wasn’t told I had an infection that required antibiotics (thankfully I read my paperwork). To top it all off, the IV WAS LEFT IN MY ARM WHICH I HAD TO REMOVE MYSELF THE FOLLOWING DAY!!!! I wouldn’t feel comfortable letting them care for my goldfish. This hospital has really gone downhill. Do better, Advent Health. You get paid. You have one job - safety and care for your patients. Also, the Doctor who I saw once while I was there was rude and condescending regarding the swelling in my legs and feet. Once again, I figured out on my own that it was my blood sugar & have rectified the issue myself. I would have much preferred being handed the medical equipment and doing it all myself. This is my 3rd experience similar to this at this hospital. Not acceptable."
