"Sheffield is a fantastic school to begin learning the craft of aircraft dispatching. Having a background in education myself, I’ve long been interested in the effective methods one can use to help others learn. Sheffield’s instructors are very much in tune with employing these methods and offer a great value for the tuition one invests to earn a dispatch certificate. I attended in July 2022 and was instantly delighted by the learning experience Sheffield offers: a phenomenal aeronautical theory foundation that is equally helpful to individuals without any experience in aviation as well as individuals with decades in the field. From the first day of class, our instructor clearly articulated the topics to be covered, how we would be assessed, and what our pathway in the course would be. We had daily homework assigned that reinforced the material we covered in class that day. I cannot emphasize enough how the homework they assigned was of immeasurable benefit to not only learning the material, but personalizing it to a degree that is helpful in one’s practical career after graduation. The instructors were more than fair and clear with their expectations. I never saw a "gotcha" on any assignment or test during the course. Our instructors were easy to communicate with and maintained a light atmosphere that was conducive to learning. Moreover, the book materials the school provides are a fantastic fount of information that continue to be helpful when working a dispatch desk. Sheffield does not waste a minute of one’s time or a dollar of one’s investment. All that is covered in the course prepares you for practical dispatching. Working now in a part 121 cargo carrier, I am grateful for the foundation Sheffield cemented in my mind with regard to weather, regulations, and aeronautical practice (among other fields of knowledge). Invest in a course with Sheffield. You won’t regret you did."

"I did the distance learning course and started with very little prior aviation knowledge. I felt that the basic concepts were explained really well and the course built upon itself and progressed in a way that made sense. As for the in-person portion of the course, my instructor was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and made the classroom experience engaging. There is a lot of information to take in and it can definitely be difficult but I believe the expectations they have are reasonable. Overall I feel like I have a solid foundation for any future dispatching jobs so I would highly recommend the school."

My experience there was fulfilling and rewarding, and the education provided is second to none. You get out of Sheffield what you put into it. If you attend with the right mindset and are prepared to work hard, you will have a tremendous experience and be rewarded for your effort. The instruction you receive while you’re there is thorough and teaches you the information and skills required to not only receive an FAA dispatch certificate, but be able to succeed once hired by a company. I recommend finding a group of committed classmates to study with in your free time. Working through the assignments and studying with others outside of class is an excellent way to supplement the high-quality instruction you receive in class. "Sheffield School of Aeronautics is so far the best training institution I have ever been to. Very open-minded and experienced instructors (some with international work experience) treat all students fairly. I was really amazed that the things which seemed difficult to understand prior coming to Sheffield were presented here in a very simple and understandable manner. Everyone is given the same study material, so it is down to each student how much of hard work he/she wants to invest and with help of instructors you will learn how to apply gained knowledge practically. Sheffield School is not a place where you can get your certificate simply by attending classes. My further journey after graduating looked like that: Within 3 days after I started applying for Flight Dispatcher jobs in Europe, I was invited for 3 job interviews in 3 different countries with 3 different type of operators: cargo airline, scheduled airline and private jet company. Most of managers I had my interview with admitted that they knew Sheffield School of Aeronautics. Greetings from Europe!"
