It is clear how much the therapists and nurses love their jobs and their patients as they wear their smiles all day long. They take great pride and responsibility in caring for their patients. "We have referred our patients in need of Urgent Psychiatric Intervention to this hospital and will continue as they have been the most successful with getting our patients stable and treating them with respect and dignity along the way. Unfortunately, I can’t say this for most Hospitals but our practice will continue to use them as a resource. It has had the best possible outcome for any of our patients whom have needed crisis services or in need of a higher level of care."

"The nurses here were kind during my stay in the Resort. They were willing to sit and talk about whatever was bugging me. The night nurses were inconsistently nice although. The float nurses on Christmas were having difficulties with glucose checks and one nurse was particularly rude."

"my husband suffering from psychosis stayed there west wing7 days. the nursing staff & all others i met there were wonderful. helpful efficient kind & understanding. the place is very clean. my only complaint was i never heard or saw a dr about his diagnosis. the nurses only have limited info of course. even tho he was still exhibiting some auditory hallucinations & i told this to the social worker liason that i was concerned, he was still discharged w/scripts & told to follow up w/his primary dr & find a psychiatrist.its taking weeks for his 1st psychiatrist appt. & the meds are not helping the delusions.a nurse did call 2 days after discharge 2 check on things. & she said if he got worse to bring him to the ER @ west largo. mental illness is a nightmare for the caretaker too & i wish the drs took time to speak & explain the possibilities & prognosis of each patient to us. it would be a huge help."

"Update since last post on the 29th. 60% of the nurses and techs were very sweet and tried their best to be attentive (but that was impossible due to being so under staffed). However the lack of unprofessionalism, lack of pride and ultimately care about the patient was unsettling. I was not provided drugs that were signed off on by the nusing staff,I was not assisted with a bleeding catheter when I requested it, I had to change the sheets on my bed on my own. After requesting them, I had to request basic toilitries, was left unattended an entire night This I had to request my own medications and so on and so on and so on. I only stayed the 4 days as the procedure I was undergoing was being done by an outside company. I canceled the surgery that was to be done at Largo hospital and asked to be discharged as I no longer felt that my, health, safety, and welfare was the priority."
