The therapists worked on walking patterns and gait training to improve the patient's ability to walk independently after suffering a severe spine infection and being bedridden for twelve weeks. The Director of Select was personally involved in being a patient advocate to help the patient achieve the goals to get back to his baseline. My family and I appreciate the ENTIRE staff's excellent care and kindness."

"NOT SAFE: THE DIETICIAN AND DOCTORS ALLOWED PATIENT WHO WAS ALLERGIC TO MILK TO BE GIVEN TUBE FEED WITH MILK, FORCED PT TO WORK HARD ON VENTILATOR WHEN HE HAD A FEVER AND THIS IS CONTRAINDICATED> Some of the staff were so unprofessional I wondered if they had legitimate licenses. The Case Manager gave us a bill over $50,000 when my loved one was too weak to get off the ventilator and insisted we move pt to A Georgia facility when another staff told me my loved one would not make it in a ambulance. You do not feed someone something they are allergic to and expect them to get stronger . Of course they will succumb to malnutrion as not be able to fight infections. THE VERY LEAST WE CAN ASK is to be treated with respect and allowed to have some dignity in our illnesses. This facility was A W F U L !!!"

"My wife was transferred here from Shands after spending 47 days in ICU for respiratory failure after cancer treatment. I was first greeted by the director of business, Jim. Jim has been an absolute joy and a shining light through all of this. From the first meeting with him before my wife was admitted, he was very friendly and his positivity was outstanding. From this moment, I knew my wife would be well taken care of and Jim would be someone I could go to for support or if any issues might come up. There were times through the 6 week stay that I needed support, and with a quick text or email, Jim would respond within minutes or come to the room and my issues would be resolved. I can not say enough about the positivity and responsiveness he has demonstrated through our journey! I could tell after just a few days that Jim truly cared about us and everything we needed. I also want to mention the outstanding job that Laura and Deandra from physical therapy did. They were outstanding in every way and were one of the keys to my wife getting stronger and recovering enough to go to a physical rehab hospital to continue her journey. When my wife was admitted to Specialty, she was so weak and had a tracheostomy from being in ICU for so long. With Laura and Deandra's physical therapy, within 6 weeks of our stay, my wife was able to walk with a walker up and down the hallway! Specialty's wound care team, Terry and Norm was also outstanding. Terry and Norm were top notch at explaining and demonstrating care on her wound all while being gentle and compassionate. I also want to mention some of the outstanding nurses and CNA's like Rebecca, Dustin, Raymond, Arleen, Anthony, Emily, and both Courtney's. They all went above and beyond with all that they did. They were all professional, caring and compassionate with excellent communication skills. All of these wonderful people should be recognized and admired for the absolutely above and beyond, outstanding job they did that was instrumental in my wife's recovery. With all of Specialty's outstanding staff, my wife has went from not being strong enough to hold a cell phone and being on a breathing respirator to having the tracheostomy removed and being able to walk! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!"

"As a mama of a young adult we tend to hold doctors and medical staff to a higher standard when they care for our children. My expectations were no less when he entered this facility. I cannot stress how amazing everyone has been to him and myself. Of course as with life nothing is without issues, however what makes the difference is the response to them. This team always responded quickly and efficiently. The director Jim is an absolute asset to this team. He always went above and beyond in making sure our experience was good and held everyone at a higher standard. The floor nurse manager was quick to address any care concerns we had. The exceptional care given didn’t stop at management, we had some amazing nurses and CNAs as well! Derek, Joseph and Monet took excellent care of him and never once had the attitude of that wasn’t their job. Whatever he needed help with they were happy to do. The CNAs Emily and Robin always made sure he was comfortable and his spirits were lifted! The physical therapist Vanshi did amazing things with him in such a short period of time. I loved getting the calls of how well they were taking care of him or when Vanshi helped him stand up by himself for the first time in 45 days! This really is an all star team!! We thank you for everything you have done to keep him back on the road to recovery and the amazing care and support extended."

They offered outstanding care, be it from the doctors, nurses, CNAs, or therapy staff. They care about your needs and you would do well to consider them should this be your situation?"
