"I came once before and had gyro. I came again today, but what I ate is unlike any gyro I've had before. The yoghurt sauce flowed through the bread like water and literally turned the bread into dough.also the meat like 25gr The place I will never come again"

"You ever have one of those days? I happen to swing by on the soft open, fairly darn late at night in fact. It was after 9:00 p.m. and I had never seen Taza open. The place is an open air concept and is decorated beautifully, Nassir gave me the history of the engraved couches that are by each door. I don't understand how this place is going to make any money! The salad had 23 Kalamata olives on it, the next best place in town serves with six. Whatever you call them, dolmas, domades, grape leaves, around town in order of five is 7 to $8. I got a whole takeout container y'all. And they were unbelievably good and didn't make it out of the parking lot before I had ripped into them. (Side note: not only is the tzatziki wonderful, the garlic sauce is phenomenal, too!) Oh, and then the lamb. That lamb was sent from heaven to be just for me and it took me forever to eat it because I was so full from the salad (Which I only ate 1/3 of the first night) and the grape leaves (okay, yeah, those went away quick!). I didn't think the lamb could get any better, and then I tried it the next day and my mind exploded. So stinking good. Nassir said they marinated it for, I want to say 3 days, but it was for a long time. The rice underneath was super yummy. Now to the baklava. I make my own baklava, and I get it just about everywhere I go. Nassir OBVIOUSLY has a genie in a lamp making his, because it's better than any I've ever had. Seriously! Pretty sure he's added every addictive ingredient known to mankind, because all I've wanted for the last week is more baklava. And he chopped the nuts so so fine that there wasn't the big nasty too dark walnut taste. It was bright and it was springy and it was super nice honey and cinnamon and it was crispy but not so flaky as to make a ginormous mess. It was perfection on a plate. And you get two triangles worth. So I ate one triangle that night, and then had the next one at breakfast. I told Nassir I would call him if there was anything I didn't enjoy. The only criticism is I don't think he's going to be able to make money with prices that are slightly higher than average, portions that are triple the size of average, 23 olives to a salad. But maybe it's the baklava. Because I think I need to go back and order an entire sheet pan worth! Thank you Nassir for making a very sad me very, very, happy for more than just one meal. I will be back frequently."

"Great gyros and kababs! Generous serving sizes, specially the gyros. The meats were tender and juicy. Highly recommend!"

"We were visiting from out of state, and we were looking for options to get some halal food. We had no choice but to go to this spot. We ordered two things, which should've been 40$ max, but we were charged 50$. Thinking the food would've been good, I tipped them 5$ as well. When we got our food, the food did not smell too good, and it was tastless. If you are from out of state, I highly recommend checking your receipt before paying. I won't lie the service was good. People were nice as well, music was on point but doesn't mean you take advantage of people knowing they wearing disney clothes which gives you an hint you not local. I give honest reviews based on what and where I eat."

"The food was below average but the unreasonably high price made the experience even more regrettable. The 5 star reviews on this place were also misleading. I guess Floridians have no reference point for how much better shawarma can be... For context, I've enjoyed a lot of middle eastern cuisine, especially shawarma. I know what good shawarma chicken is supposed to taste like. I ordered two chicken shawarmas on rice. Each platter is 20$. Yes... 20$ for just one platter. Check the picture and you'll see the amount of rice and chicken doesn't even fill the container. At best it can feed one hungry person or maybe two small appetites. I don't know if you'd be comfortable paying 40 bucks for two plates like this, but I'm not... I could easily get double or triple the amount of better food for the same price. The shawarma had an irregular taste. It wasn't necessarily bad but just had different spices than traditional shawarma and didn't taste like the many better shawarma spots I've tried (in downtown Toronto for example where there is serious Middle Eastern competition so the shawarma HAS to be excellent to be profitable). This shawarma also had onions in it which is a random addition that didn't fit well with the dish. Shawarma isn't supposed to have raw onions in it to begin with. The service was fine, and the atmosphere was very nice, but the absurd pricing of the below average food leaves me no choice but to give this place 2 stars. I included a picture of my receipt as well just so you know this isn't some fake slanderous review. Best wishes to the staff at Taza Halal and I am hopeful that the food/prices will improve."
