"Like a tourist, we visited this restaurant to enjoy our stay and we experienced xenophobia from a Latino worker that served us. It was very uncalled for. It was like our visit was not appreciated. Will never ever go back again or recommend to anyone."

"We were visiting Mt. Dora and ready for lunch when we saw Las Palmas Cuban restaurant. Being from Puerto Rico, we can NEVER say NO to spanish cuisine, so we decided to have lunch at Las Palmas. Best decision for sure! The place was buzzing with people, but their service was amazing. Ali, our waitress, was so nice. She brought our drinks, the coldest beers we have gotten in a restaurant, and was fast taking our orders, mofongo with garlic shrimp (mofongo con camarones al ajillo). It was absolutely delicious! Music and atmosphere were awesome too, and you can dine inside or out. Loved it! If you're around Mt. Dora, you MUST visit Las Palmas, and as for Ali, she will take care of you."

"I enjoyed my weekend lunch at this restaurant in Mt Dora. Our waitress was lovely and did not give us any attitude when my guest and I decided to split an entree. We were not super hungry but wanted to try this place…so we ordered the Ropa Vieja meal and split it. It was delicious and it was a large portion. I always have to try sweet plantains whenever I eat at a place that has them on the menu…and they were GREAT here. The meal also came with black beans and rice, which were great. We were also given bread service without asking for it. The bread seemed to be pressed Cuban bread served with a side of three tasty sauces/dips. It was a nice surprise. I will also note that the owner has really spent a lot of time and effort to thoughtfully decorate this restaurant-it’s very cute and is bright and cheery. It is also very clean. I looked around at every corner and moulding and I couldn’t see any dust/dirt. It’s a busy place and I think that makes this fact even more impressive. I look forward to going back to try other dishes."

"One of the best tourist trap restaurants I have ever eaten at! Got the Cuban with onion rings and a side of beans & rice. The sandwich was amazing, and the beans and rice were the best I have ever had. The service was also great. They were packed inside and out, and it took a bit longer for our food to come out, but it was well worth the wait! Highly recommend this restaurant on tour visit!"

"Stopped here by accident. Decent meal. Isabel was out server...she was excellent and offe red many suggestions on the menu. She was super busy...however there were 4 young individuals standing at the front door who could have helped clean up tables or helped the other servers. We didn't get our salads...but after pointing it out we didn't have to pay for them. We recieved little bread pieces w a few sauces, they were all good. I had a margarita special...delicious! My Cuban sandwich was decent.. My husband had some kind of thing steak w onions. His was way over done and kind of stringy, however We would definitely stop if we were in town again."
