Pollo Tropical

"One major complaint. On two separate occasions I have entered the restaurant to eat inside. As soon as I entered each time, the odor from the restrooms was so strong it almost made me want to leave and not dine in. It was absolutely horrible and such a disgusting turnoff to someone who is hungry. I made sure to sit far away from bathrooms but I could still smell. The odor was a strong public restroom smell like a rest stop on a highway. A mix of nasty cleaning supplies, air freshener and pure stench. I will reconsider dining in from here on out. Something must improve! Minor complaints: diningroom was dirty and needed attention. Service was a little slow, no sense of urgency."

"So I eat at this pollo every day literally as my son like the chicken breast. So I go through the drive through and order the same thing I order every day and today the guy Peter is just the worst person ever and evidently doesn’t know about customer service like how in the h e ll did he even get a manager position they must have been desperate. Every time I come and he’s there he’s outside smoking idk what. But today he was at the drive through and honestly he’s horrible I ordered the same thing and today he was just being an complete a hole and unnecessary and I will be going to another establishment he was just down right rude and disgusting. To think I spend my hard earn money here just to get Peter to respond to me like that and not even allow me to pay for my food that I want. Ridiculous. Normally the other associates are so nice and they get me what I order and pay for and no argument or anything and that’s what kept me coming back but Peter needs to go in the dumpster"

"Hadn't been to a Pollo Tropical ... ever, I believe. Came in because I wanted something I can't find back in Colorado and wasn't interested in fried, burger or lots of bread. The cashier, Amerie, was great. When I told her I had never been to one of these before she explained everything to me and let me ask all the questions. She never once seemed annoyed or frustrated with me and did have a good sense of humor. I went with the two breast platter with brown rice and sides of black beans and fries. The chicken was great. Very well cooked and not dry at all. Couldn't be happier, except for the sizes of the chicken breasts. Someone should have mentioned they were pygmie chickens. The rest of the "platter" (Styrofoam plate) was the underwhelming rice and a cup of the bland black beans. A separate cup of fries was on the side. I understand these issues aren't within this location's control as franchises work from the top down, but I see no real reason to return or recommend it to anyone. The restaurant was clean, which I appreciate significantly. I didn't know they were rationing sauces and didn't get any ketchup for my fries, instead choosing the spicy-something sauce and some BBQ for the chicken, which also detracted from the overall experience. The music in the eating area was very loud. Had I been with someone and wanting to talk, I would have been annoyed. On contrast, the wifi was great. Of course, the music was too loud to listen to anything, even with noise-cancelling earbuds in."

"Nice place for a quick bite. I ordered the Ropa Vieja (shredded beef) platter with yellow rice it was very delicious and a nice good portion. This particular restaurant was staffed with young people who wouldn't shut up about their private love life it's very unprofessional. I recommend ordering it to go."
