"i used to attend this school a few years back it was enjoyable for the most part due to friends. The staff on the other hand was awful some of the staff being related through marriage and even having a child that attended that was more privileged than other students. Fridays were enjoyable for being able to join and have fun with friends from other classes to enjoy time. Art was fairly popular due to many creative minds. Teachers were having babies and since one of the related staff to the principle had a child and they took away the art room for a daycare. I still know a few friends that attend they dislike the school and they tell me these things very often."

"My son attended Horizon Charter School for 6 amazing years! When he began mid-year, the staff was so welcoming, easing both of our concerns about starting a new school. I was easily able to find ways to volunteer and be a part of my sons’ education. My son quickly made new friends, whom he still sees on a regular basis. The teaching staff does an amazing job, balancing the needs of the students and following state rules. It is easy to see why they are a consistently an “A” rated school. I truly believe it is because of Mrs. Thomley and her staff, that my son is currently excelling in high school and dual enrolled in college. He learned so much not only academically but also important life skills. He approaches challenges with school work and homework with ease because of the study skills he learned. He can easily solve problems with peers because of the problem-solving skills he was taught. As he looks for volunteer opportunities, he easily understands that the rules he must follow are there for a reason. He also knows if the reason is not apparent, it is ok to politely ask.  My son is turning into a confident, intelligent, and well-rounded young man and I truly believe that Horizon Charter School played an integral part in his development."

"We came to Horizon looking for a change. We had a bad experience at another school and we were looking for a school where the teachers and staff were more in tune and cared more about their students. Upon our orientation we were already impressed with the pride presented in how they cared for not only for the school but for their students as well. We went through the briefing and was able to ask questions, not only was I loving the school already but so was my son. We were so happy when he was accepted to attend. Horizon is a small school so the staff pretty much knows each student by name. They know their moods, their abilities, their strengths and their weaknesses. We have witnessed first hand the principal and her staff in action handling a difficult situation from start to finish and I have the upmost respect for their professionalism. Ms. Thomley has been a tremendous help and support as we have deliberated over high school programs for our son next year. You can't ask for a better school and staff. I wish we had know about Horizon years ago. My son would have been enrolled from K-8!"

"So honored to have our son at this school since 3rd grade he is now starting 7th grade. The class sizes are small. All the teachers know our child's name in addition to the Principal and Assistant Principal knowing his name and knowing his growth and progress academically. Teachers are very accommodating when we request a conference. The Principal and Assistant Principal are briefed of the meeting or are present themselves. This school cares about each child and their progress. To know you can call the school and ask for the Teacher or Principal/Assistant and get a return call the same day is very comforting. Having our son attend Horizon Charter has made a substantial difference in his academic success in addition to adding to his kind character and empathy for others."

"My child is enrolled and has had a wonderful experience. Every morning she wakes up excited to go to school and leaves us with a smile on her face. I know she is safe and well cared for by every staff member that works there. Teachers and Administration help students learn how to advocate for themselves with love and support. My family purposely chose a non-traditional school for my daughter- we were not interested in a "one-size fits all" approach to education. We are excited to live in a state where school choice is an option, and we found the perfect choice for our little girl. Her teachers quickly realized her areas of strengths and enriched her learning, while being able to support the areas that were not as strong."
