"Passing through Ocala wanted a quick meal off of the highway and came across this gem. The turkey was moist, decently seasoned and not salty. The brisket was flavorful as well. Collards made the plate, as it wasn't overly vinegary like other places. The food was well prepared, and the sauces came in just about every variety. We enjoyed the frames and quality of the sides. I'll be stopping by on my road trips more frequently. The staff was attentive and very friendly. She knew the menu and accommodated our dietary needs."
"We really enjoyed our lunch at big rascal barbecue! The wings were absolutely amazing, the brisket was really good too. We had sweet tea to drink, and it was brewed just right! Our server kept our drinks filled and actually came to check on us to make sure the food was to our liking. If you like BBQ this is definitely one of Ocala‘s hidden gems."

"I work in the area, and I always see the sign out front advertising the half pound burger, so I was in the area on my day off, and stopped to try the burger, and boy was I disappointed. I've worked in the food industry since 2010 when I opened my first hot dog cart, and eventually building my own food truck, and this has to be the worst burger hands down I've ever had anywhere! This is not to say that everything else is this bad, but if you are going to have a sign touting the burger, you'd think it would be one of the best in town. Nonetheless, you can't put a hockey puck on a flame grill thinking it going to come no better than putting it on the flat grill. I can't believe you guys use patties instead of handmade burgers. Then, the cashier asked me what kind of drink as if it came with the meal, and got me for $2.99 plus tax. I had it made well done because I was hoping it would be fresh, and it was still a little pink inside. I don't blame you guys for cooking food like this, I blame the people that have eaten there more than once. If you guys are using frozen hamburger patties, I wonder what other cuts you use. I'll come back when you add the word Fresh to the half pound burger sign out front."
