"I live in Florida, but am stationed in the Air Force Reserve in Texas. I have driven past the area many times and finally my wife and I stopped by here to try their oysters and southern seafood. It just happened to be happy hour. We were not disappointed. The food is awesome and our server, Andrew, was an excellent host. I’m a raw oyster fan, but also decided to try the fire grilled oysters with garlic and Parmesan. They are delicious. My wife really liked the Cajun popcorn shrimp. But, to top it off, the Judge Roy O Bean dark beer was excellent!!! Must try stop if you want good food and good views over looking the water."

"Recommended with enthusiasm!!! Flavorful and plenty. Loved every bite as my family shared everything and were very surprised. Great price and quality. The Oysters both raw and fried are some of the largest I’ve seen in years. The sides are also an excellent compliment with a special nod to the greens, red beans and rice. Don’t sleep on the fires either as they were served piping hot and wonderfully seasoned. The service was excellent from greeting to seating. Marco served our table and always made sure we never wanted for anything. Not a high brow place but just the kind of place my family and I were looking for. I found it a bit interesting to see the wall of pictures of famous stars and athletes that have visited. We made a special trip and would come back in a heartbeat. In all seriousness, I’ve had seafood in this style from San Diego to NYC and DC, Baltimore and so on. The Original Oyster House beats them all…hands down."

"We can never travel through Mobile without stopping by the Oyster House. It never disappoints! You must always start with oysters and hush puppies while you decide on what to eat. Our waitress Kay took awesome care of us. The gumbo is always amazing and really we have never had a bad choice here."

"So good! Our family of 6 was able to get in without issue and without a long wait last night. Food was quick, fresh, and no complaints. The waitress suggested shrimp Florentine and it was out of this world! We also had alligator bites, fresh oysters, kids meals, salad bar, and make-your-own-platter. Absolutely no complaints. The food was fresh and our bellies were full!"

"The food was fine, but the service was the worst. We had to wait a long time to get our order taken, even when we called several times the server. We were the only table being ignored and also the only group of not Americans in the restaurant, which made us feel really discriminated. We had to call the supervisor to get service. When we paid, the manager came to us and asked about the service, we told him the issue, and he offered a free dessert for the inconvenience (which we didn't accept). The manager and supervisor were both really nice, too bad that they have such bad servers, making us not want to come back."
