"2. My wife works because I allow her to work. Yes – I am “that” guy. She does not need your money, and she certainly does not need anyone’s ‘ghetto’ attitude. We intentionally live well beyond those low standards. 3. My job is to protect my wife from pettiness, and I am very good at what I do. Mrs. Lina, The Owner, husband Charles kicked us out the program because I asked a question about the upcoming 2024 contract on December 20, 2023, and I also ask him why he felt it was necessary to send a mass text out to parents at 3:00am about him suspending the 15-minute grace period after Mrs. Lina gave permission to the parents to utilize it. He pointed in my face and said," That was directly for you. Lina wanted a grace period, and I did not." Charles also confirmed that he will continue to close the center at 5:00pm even though it had been posted online on several sites closing at 6:00pm. He said that for that hour is his quality time with his wife and that parents (customers) have made arrangements so far, and he will not change it going forward. He didn't like Mrs. Lina concerns about the safety and well-being of the families to allow them to arrive within the grace period. Then he retracted the grace period suspension for me personally because of the replacement he hired at the time for Mrs. Lina could not make it to the center on time at 6:00am. So, he tried to make it right by offering to let me pick my son up at 5:30pm for the hardship Ms. Gibson caused. I respectfully declined. Charles has targeted me ever since he didn't see that a cash paying student isn't as profitable and controllable in his eyes as a CAPS kid. I recall one comment Charles made about CAPS was that he can report issues to the caseworker, and the parent risks losing their voucher. This is a private center, and I understand that folks can run their business how they see fit. But to put a single mother and child out without 2 weeks' notice because your feelings are hurt is uncalled for. To say I have an unfavorable balance on my account due to being late is FALSE. And to withhold my 2023 TAX SUMMARY for this lie is unethical. This behavior is rude and nasty. But just my opinion seems like it's more about money because the weekly rate went from $160.00 weekly to $200.00, and he eliminated the 15-minute grace period Mrs. Lina implemented then added a $5 charge for every minute you are over your time. And because I will not remove this review, all of a sudden, I have a pending balance of $1,500 for utilizing a grace period that I was cleared by the owner Edelina Lane for ALL her parents. But the energy has been off ever since Mrs. Lina has been told to hire someone else to run the center in the daytime by her husband. She seems so unhappy, and the kids and parents weren't properly introduced to the change in the program. And if you have any questions or concerns the husband will say you are causing drama and will find a way to push you out the center and when that doesn't work, he will just ask you to leave and take your child. When he kicked my son out of the center, all I asked was, "Can my son say goodbye? He said "NO" and looked my son straight in his face. This was the most challenging moment in my life to remain professional and as a parent watch an adult disrespect me and my son in the presence of children. This incident was a very traumatic experience for my son and I, but I know Mrs. Lina was more heartbroken because Rocky was one of her babies. It's also upsetting to see my son pictures on the website and social media, and I wish for them to be removed. Like he wishes that this honest review be removed."

"WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS CENTER FOR ANYONE TO TAKE THEIR KIDS? NO I am heartbroken. My only child, Rocky, has been ripped away from his home away from home. Rocky attended this daycare for 3 years. As a black single mother working as Law Enforcement this was a huge challenge emotionally and financially.  The center is GREAT I can not and will not deny that. My son Rocky loves Mrs. Lina and the only friends he has were at the center. I don't want another parent to have a similar experience and have to uproot everything. Mrs. Lina is a beautiful woman, friend, mother, and caregiver. Mrs. Lina is married to a person who doesn't compliment her as a professional. I have established a bond with her over the years, and for a strange reason, our friendship seems to bother her husband, Charles. Charles does not want her to work maybe because she's loves kids more than anything else. I've noticed nasty tactics since August 2022 after rescinding a job offer in Texas due to a security breach. This email was sent because Charles had offered our spot to a parent (customer) in the same subdivision as the center before my son was physically gone: The bottom line is that I will not risk losing the business and 12 years of commitment and accomplishments because you changed your mind not to move. I will notify you once the inspection is complete. If you are in a position to return, you are more than welcome to do so. Until then, all drop-offs are suspended until the inspection is complete or the end of September - whichever occurs first. Charles Admin Rep Lina Lane’s Learning Center I came back September 2022, my son had attended another center that had a drop-in slot. But in December 2022, an unexpected email was sent to me without communicating just his own understanding, I understand that the drop-off arrangement for 2022 is coming to an end. Rocky’s slot will be converted to a CAPS recipient for 2023. 4. It was a joy having Rocky in the Learning Center. If there is anything we can do to assist in the future, just let me know. Thanks for a Memorable Year! Charles Admin Rep Lina Lane’s Learning Center My responses: Just to touch base, I really appreciate everything you have done. Especially looking out for us during Covid-19 with the essential worker's discount. I do understand that drop-off isn't profitable, and most facilities are doing away with it. I definitely understand, but Rocky loves it there, but not as much as I love him being in the care of Mrs. Lina. He can, without any issues, be a full-time paying student there.  What is most important to me is Rockland's education background, and he has everything I look for in a learning center. Thanks again. Love y'all. So, I spoke to Mrs. Lina immediately and he never directly apology just sent another email: Charles responded: Thanks, Stacey.. I heard you and Lina talking this morning. My strategic goal was to shift Lina's program to serve only CAPS students next year. Since you had already made a commitment, I'll adjust accordingly. As long as Rocky is full-time, it's not an issue. Thanks, again, for clarifying the concern and closing the loop. Stay focused on work. Rocky is in good hands with Lina. Charles Mrs. Lina has no say-so looking back now in September 2022. I received an email that was sent out to all the parents well (customers) as he calls us about an issue with a teenager asking Mrs. Lina a simple question, but since there's a slight language barrier, his response was: I overheard a conversation this morning that deeply concerned me. Not sure who it was, but the individual was rude and condescending in her tone and approach. So let me be clear: 1. My wife is a seasoned professional. She is not a “daycare” worker. If you don’t know or appreciate the value of what you have, you need to take your child somewhere else. We are not here for you, and we do not want the other students exposed to your low values and weak standards. 2. My wife works because I allow her to work. Yes – I am “that” guy. She does not need your money, and she certainly does not need anyone’s ‘ghetto"
