"I have been doing business with this Kay jewelers for the past five years. I have bought multiple items from them and have even referred friends and family. I bought my wife’s wedding ring five years ago and purchased a lifetime warranty on the ring. We had the ring inspected at the end of June (their recommendation is every 6 months). At the beginning of January my wife’s center diamond fell out of her ring. Upon my wife’s initial encounter with the store in the day the stone fell out, she was told they could send it off and it would “possibly” be covered. When arriving at the store the narrative was quickly changed and they began showing her new diamonds that she could purchase for the ring and saying it would not be covered. I called the store a week ago and have waited for the manager to call me about our warranty after customer service told us it would be the stores “discretion.” The manager finally returned my call a week later. I was very disappointed with the initial conversation starter of the manager encouraging us to purchase a new stone with little concern of how they could assist with fixing the ring under our PURCHASED warranty. I was then informed that due to the fact we were “a month” (less than 30 days) past our inspection date, they could no longer honor the lifetime warranty that we purchased. My brother-in-law also had a similar issue with his wife’s ring and Kay’s were not willing to honor their warranty either. We will now be taking our business elsewhere, and I would suggest anyone do the same or not waster their time or money with their warranties!"
