McCray's Tavern Midtown

"Neat little place. I have been here many times and would definitely recommend for brunch and dinner. The food was always great, especially the wings. Service seems to be average. Nice bar too. Highly recommend."

"I was very disappointed in my experience at McCray's. We reserved our dinner two hours before our event thinking that that would be enough time to sit down and enjoy. When we arrived. We noticed that there was a long line of people and they seemed to have reservations as well, and they sat everyone at once. Unfortunately I do not think the kitchen or staff could handle the amount of people that they sat at one time as we waited over 30 minutes on our food to arrive and there were only 2 people in our party with simple orders and no modifications. We received our appetizer before we even received any type of beverages and multiple tables around us had incomplete orders delivered to their tables so portions of their party were eating before the rest of the table got their food delivered. Some of the staff seemed to be overwhelmed by the number of people there but there was an abundance of staff as we had someone different deliver each part of our meal. The food was about what you would expect from a tavern. I would love to give a better rating, but the service was not up to par with what I expect from midtown Atlanta restaurants where I visit often. I would be happy to give a better review if given the chance."

"Their gluten free bun option was the best I've ever had, idk if they just actually toasted it correctly or if it was a different kind of bread than I usually get but it was SO delicious! I ordered their Smash burger - I'm not going to lie, I've never had a smash burger before - but this was absolutely delicious. My partner devoured his in like 3 minutes so it's safe to say he enjoyed his as well. Loved the atmosphere in there too, just super chill, clean, great for families or big groups and also perfect for couples to grab a quick meal before a show. Highly recommend"

"Visited 12/19/23. Cool little spot with a great burger. Really liked how the place was set up inside with the different levels/areas. Got the Sante Fe burger and my wife got the smash burger on a gluten free bun. Both were spectacular. Bun was toasted well, meat cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. Service was quick as well which was appreciated as we were headed to a show at Central Stage. I would definitely come back!"

"What a fun place. Would have given 5 stars; however, the hostess was less than personable and acted like she wanted to be any place but at work. Once we were seated it took almost 15 minutes for our waitress to come and greet us. Once she did, she was great. The Makers Mark Old Fashioned was spot on. I had the chopped salad with blackened salmon and it was divne. Mom had the Cobb salad and wings and thought it was really good too. If you want a fun casual place to hang out, I would definitely recommend. Fun atmosphere."
