Reviews
"On the bright side, The Daily Coffee Shop is in a pretty part of town, is a nice place to relax for a bit, has tasty and unique foods, and decent coffee. The downside is that they don’t want you to hang out TOO long, given that they intentionally don’t have free WiFi, and their prices are a bit steep. I find it a bit much to charge $1 for a flavor in your already expensive latte, or $2 for a couple of the fancier flavors. Once we start getting into the range of $8 lattes, I feel like it’s a bit much. All that said, the quality of the food and drinks is good. Definitely a decent spot to check out if you’re in the area."
"This was my third or fourth time at the Daily and it’s consistently excellent. Today’s barista went above and beyond with the holiday latte art! Flavors were great too—along with the fall veggie hash."
"Really nice! Food was great! We were really surprised and happy to find a bunch of Israel inspired foods/coffee items. Would definitely recommend this place to others."
"Cute little coffee shop off of Dekalb. I only had coffee, which was good. I would consider going back another time to grab a bite. The parking at the building is sparse, but you can also park on Edgewood and further down Hurt. I was there mid-morning on a weekday, so I imagine it would be more difficult during busier hours. The place was cute, and very hipster and industrial feeling. If you lived nearby, it could be a nice place to sit for a while. I'm not sure if I would consider it cozy enough to want to work at for a few hours. The chairs do not look comfortable, and it is kind of loud due to the layout. When you first walk in, there's a huge island to lean on and stand at, but you order at the counter to the right. The menus themselves were at the island thing right in front of the door, rather than at the register. So, I walked to the register to order, then was told the menus were at the island thing I had already passed. There were also people standing there waiting and drinking coffes, so I had to ask for them to move in order to get to the menus. It did not make any sense. Aside of the atmosphere and the odd menu location, the biggest reason I gave them a 3 is because of the price of the coffee. I got an iced latte with almond milk. It was a $0.75 upcharge, which I get, because it is more expensive. I genuinely am lactose intolerant and will get sick if I drink it, so I have been paying for the dairy free stuff for a while. However, it was $6.42 before the tip. I am not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but it is a tiny coffee. It was a good coffee, but it was a tiny coffee. With a tip, I ended up paying almost $8 for my tiny, dairy free iced coffee. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just feel like if I pay that much at other places, I'm usually getting a the larger size. If I do come here again, I will try some food. That seems to be more of the focus for the Daily, given the review commentary on lack of wifi. However, I would not be coming here regularly for my coffee fix based on the price."
"Dropped in today after hearing about The Daily from my neighbor. They have really improved the interior space from the previous tenant. We ordered a berry acai smoothie, which was good, and tasted like all fresh ingredients were used. I believe it cost $9, wished it was a little larger. We also had a BLT which could easily be shared, packed with flavor, fresh tomatoes, plenty of bacon, definitely a winner. The most interesting item was our Israeli upside down latte, creamy rose and cardamom flavored decorated with rose petals, so beautiful. Will return to try other menu items, great addition to the neighborhood!"
