"As a former student of the Mrs. Dawn from 7th-12th grade, I can say with certainty that she is an amazing piano teacher. The depth and care with which she teaches her students is unmatched. I remember coming from another piano teacher that did not take as much care to teach me the fundamentals of piano technique, and was shocked at how much there was to learn through her teaching. Over the years, I greatly improved on my technique, got to learn piano theory, and moved on from playing easier pieces to more technically/musically challenging works. Also, the multiple camps and other workshops, as well as festivals such as Federation and Local Auditions allowed me to hone my skills and have something to compete for. I even studied with Dr. Hawk over the years, playing cello under him at GYSO and learning theory and loved his energetic and passionate attitude towards music. Both the Hawks helped me foster my passion for music and develop it in a way that helped me appreciate the art of instruments so much more."

"My son started piano lessons with Dr Dawn a few years ago. He was a reluctant learner but Dr Dawn patiently taught him. He was more interested in the actual working of the piano (like how the keys were installed and how they made music). She had immense patience with him, helping him understand the workings of piano along with teaching him music :) A few years later, my daughter (4 years old) decided to start lessons with Dr Dawn. My daughter is a fast learner and works hard to finish all the pieces that are assigned to her. She also likes to chat with Dr Dawn (about dogs). Dr D is very patient with her as well and helps my daughter challenge herself with lots of music pieces to work on. I love how Dr Dawn has worked with both my kids of different temperaments and helped them both thrive! I myself took violin lessons (adult beginner) with Dr Eric Hawk. He is amazing with his knowledge of music and ability to teach individuals of different ages! All kids who take private lessons are also given an opportunity to enroll in (free) group lessons. My daughter loves her group lesson Teacher Mrs. Sally Walsh! Mrs. Walsh is very kind and incredibly sweet with all kids. My daughter loves going to her class as well. The Hawks are very passionate about music and teaching! It is evident as soon as you enter their studio. We are going to be students here for a long time."
