"Absolutely the worse school district my kids have ever attended ever. Starting with the dress code policy, the school district literally forces a parent to go out and purchase all new items in solid black or white , just based on what they perceive as less disruptive environment. Meanwhile giving the same ok to drop students off almost a mile to walk from the bus stop to home. Administration takes over 3 days to get your kids registered in school, when most school zones do it all the same day. Lanett is basically a school district that is not good for anything except enforcing a useless dress code! Nobody from the secretary Christy Carpenter that works at the board , to the principal Donna Bell at W.O. Lance elementary have any type of compassion , they will use the handbook as their excuse for continuing in this disgusting behavior. Fortunately I was able to purchase the items needed for my kid after changing school districts in the middle of the year , but to the parents that can’t , the first objection is detention and then iss , all because your student has a brown jacket on, instead of solid black or white ! In this day and age the way a child is dressed is more important than their education while attending Lanett city schools. Immediately after this school year ends I’m taking my kids out of this district. I advise any parents to NOT enroll their kids in Lanett city school district , the entire district is an unprofessional joke."
