"Love, LOVE this school! There is no better feeling than knowing your children are in the best of hands. From the owner to the director, Chris to the teachers, everyone here makes you feel like family and like your babies are so cared for and attended to. Beyond grateful for Legacy Academy!"
"If you are looking for a place to bring your kids, Legacy Academy is the best in Acworth. My wife and I have two kids in the school currently, and Legacy continues to go above and beyond. The staff is awesome. They are a diverse group, which is important to me. My babies get Spanish class! My one year old doesn't know "goodbye" yet, but she can say "adios". Ha! I think that is great. It shows that it is more than just a babysitting service, my kids learn there. My son, who is three, could count, say his ABCs, and is even working through grammar (putting stuff in the correct tenses when he when he speaks), much faster than some of the other kids his age at our church or in our family. I know that there has been some turnover in the teachers recently, but people need to watch the news. Education has some of the highest turnover out there. We have had so many great teachers since being there, but I cannot say enough Mrs. Emily, Mrs. Katlyn, and Mrs. Elisabeth. I saw another review mention Mrs. Chris by name. I hate that these families had a poor experience, but we have several friends now through the school and all of us agree, to a person, that Mrs. Chris is one of the best parts of the school. Chris actually left the school for a little while, and so many parents have talked about how the school hit a rough patch, but now that she is back, things are so great. My kids love her so much. I appreciate all she does, and all the teachers do, to make sure that we have a safe, clean, responsible place to bring our kids to."
"Update: Our time at Legacy Daycare was overwhelmingly disappointing, and I feel compelled to share our negative experiences with fellow parents. Despite initial optimism, several significant issues arose, leading us to reconsider our choice of daycare. While the owner, Tarah, seemed friendly and approachable, our interactions with the director, Chris, left much to be desired. There were unsettling instances where it appeared that minority children, including ours, were treated unfairly. This discriminatory behavior was a major concern that cast a shadow over our entire experience. A particularly troubling incident involved a report of our child supposedly choking another child. Upon closer examination, it turned out to be a mere misunderstanding – our child had hugged another child too tightly, inaccurately labeled as a more serious offense. This incident underscored a lack of clear communication between the staff and parents, eroding our trust in the daycare's ability to accurately assess and report incidents. The consistently high turnover rate among the staff was another glaring issue. The frequent changes not only disrupted the continuity of care but also raised questions about the overall stability of the daycare environment. Attempts to address our concerns with Chris were met with indifference and a shocking lack of empathy, leaving us frustrated and unheard. Adding to our disappointment was the discovery of a file on our child that had been created without our knowledge. Specific incidents were seemingly exaggerated, portraying our child in an unfairly negative light. This lack of transparency and questionable reporting practices further eroded our confidence in the daycare's professionalism. In light of these issues, we made the difficult decision to withdraw our child from Legacy Daycare. We have since enrolled our child in a different daycare where the experience was markedly better – no reports of aggressive behavior, and our child thrived in a more supportive environment. In conclusion, our experience at Legacy Daycare was marred by discrimination, communication breakdowns, and questionable practices. I strongly advise parents to exercise caution and thoroughly research alternative options before considering Legacy Daycare for their children."
"Our son had been going to this facility from 6 months of age to 17 months. We thought with how nice the facility was and the higher prices, we’d receive a professional and well managed day care. We enjoyed this facility for 6 months, thinking we would receive the best care. The first 2 classes were excellent, Mrs. Juliana, Mrs. Sam, and the assistant teacher with Mrs. Sam (why I’m giving 2 stars and not 0). Although, the 5 months that followed this, we noticed a decline in the environment and the high teacher turn over rate (receiving classroom staff updates almost every 2 weeks). Unfortunately our son started biting, directly after being bitten multiple times from another student. During this time, Michelle was on maternity leave, then the owner, Tarah, stepped in during this time and notified us of the biting and we began to feel like we were walking on glass from her encounters. Chris came back to work for Legacy, not sure where she went or what happened. Chris notified us that he was okay and biting was normal, that she had a biter and understood and they would resolve it. They put him on a behavioral plan for one week. He was teething during this time, but not once did they seem to take it into fact of the cause of the biting. The teacher even notified us of a bunch of other kids biting in his classroom. Tarah moved him up a classroom, it resolved the issue for a while. Since being in that classroom 2 LEAD teachers were fired, for creating a toxic and negative environment for the kids. Multiple weeks go by being in the new classroom (not teething during this time, so not biting), he starts to bite again, amongst some of the most painful teeth coming in and Legacy (Chris) not acknowledging him teething at all and possibly being 100% the root cause. She also mentioned one instance specifically that our son pushed a kid down, held him down, then bit his ear. She mentioned they would put him on a behavioral plan, but did not hear anything about this actually happening the second time. I spoke to the lead teacher the next morning and she said he was completely calm, minding his own business, he didn’t push or hold a kid down, he was provoked and bit the kid. Multiple times Chris told us he was not being provoked and he kept pushing kids down and biting them, but it’s hard to believe what she’s saying when the teacher was there to see it happen and Chris did not see this happen and does not have access to even see the footage of it happening, so essentially she just went off of someone’s word. All this time we thought she was rewatching everything from footage, but this was not the case from what Chris told us in our parent meeting. After the 2nd lead teacher was let go, Mrs. Sam his previous teacher moved up and took her place. She mentioned to me that the kids were out of control and very aggressive- that the previous teacher had absolutely no schedule for them and were standing on tables, couldn’t nap during nap time, etc. We noticed these changes even at home on the weekends with him. As of a few weeks ago, they gave up on our son and kicked us out with no warning (extremely unprofessional). No behavior plan was mentioned. Chris having no compassion when it was a fact that he was teething, as well as, 2 terrible hires creating a toxic environment, where he could have learned this behavior. No understanding that we are both 2 full-time working parents and most day cares require a 1 year+ waitlist. I maintained a positive attitude to Legacy staff at all times. Our son comes from a good and healthy home, he is very sweet, has a lot of energy just like a little boy should at this age and have seen him in multiple play scenarios not exhibiting aggressive behavior and/or biting. Chris told us we would be refunded by EOD, but we called multiple times throughout the span of a week to receive our refund. We feel as if we were discriminated against at Legacy and definitely do not recommend this facility to anyone anymore."
"Placing our child in the care of Legacy was the best decision ever. She loves all of her teachers (and so do we). This school and the staff pours so much into the children and it really shows. The facilities are clean, the food is great and she’s always always happy when we pick her up. I also love the photo and text updates that we receive throughout the day."
