"I would steer clear of this facility. The techs do not seem informed enough to call and give information. Everyone is only concerned about pushing their wellness plan. Every time you mention something they gear it towards the plan and costs. My dog needed extractions and the tech told me I could wait until next year. I took that option only to see her teeth are at a stage 4 on the paperwork and need to come out or she may incur pain over this year of waiting. The practice manager Dan Myers was the least helpful and empathetic. He kept pushing me off to the doctor. However, the care received and explanation of why the extractions needed to happen immediately was my issue. Which he never addressed. Just offered to do another bill and take off some anesthesia time. Yet the bill was higher than before. My dog is 16 and the last thing she needs is another procedure with anesthesia. But giving me the option to wait a year made it seem as if the extractions were not urgent. That’s misinformation. The tech also told me 7 teeth needed to be removed and the next day the doctor said 9 which increased the price. How does that even happen? Again, misinformation. Dr Akil just said the tech maybe made a mistake but he also claimed to be in the room listening to the conversation. So how does this happen?? My dogs teeth have not been fully cleaned at the bottom and she had yellow stuff on her butt. Again no one could tell me what it was but guessed she spit up and sat in something. If you want attention to detail and staff that can explain care needed without always bringing up a plan go somewhere else. This is not the facility for you. I had a feeling after the first visit that they were more sales people then vet staff that cared. Should’ve went with that gut feeling."

"Vet was always rushed and irritated with questions. Staff continually tried to up-sell me on testing and medications. When your pet dies, you are still on the hook for hundreds of dollars to complete your annual "wellness" plan. Inexcusable."

"Banfield can be very hit or miss. Having lived all over the greater Atlanta area, I’ve had the chance to sample a number of locations. The Banfield on LaVista Rd is far and away the best Banfield location in the Atlanta area. My dog was very sick for a long time and no veterinarian that we took her to for over a year of tests was able to identify the root cause. The veterinarian at the LaVista location was able to diagnose my dog with a rare condition known as Atypical Addison’s Disease within minutes of evaluating her which he later confirmed with a simple lab test. We now go in for monthly maintenance injections and she’s healthier than she’s ever been! I will forever be grateful for the folks at the LaVista Banfield Hospital for saving my sweet girl."

"Brought my sweet Coops McGoots in today due mostly to me being extremely worrisome but as well as some minor stomach issues he was having... Christian and Dr. Walker were the absolute best! They both took their time to talk with me, answered all of my questions, and didn't try to up-sell me on things that weren't necessary. I used the free visit coupon from the Banfield website, but I will definitely pay the next time I need to bring him in because of the great services they provided. Thank you guys!"
